Urbandale/CBLC Game

Was a fun game to watch for the first half, the second half was all C.B. It was the first time I got to see Urbandale this year. I don't think they will lose another game in District play and will make the playoff as the #2 seed. They have a lot of speed in the backfield with a good QB and excellent special teams. I am not a big fan of the offense they run but its been that way for some time now with success so what do I know. The defense needs to improve, they gave away yardage on 3rd and longs all night.
Ankeny and other:
L Central looked like a team that Urbandale should beat on paper but not the case when the whistle blew. The QB is fun to watch, he reminds me of Boyle can beat you with his arm and feet. The have a bunch of good hands possession receivers and move the ball well on offense.
The D is a bend but not break with backers that flow and a Stud at D-End. Not a lot of d size but they flow well and solid tackler

I think the Ankeny/U game will be a great match-up and fun to watch

I'd put my money on Ankeny and Dowling. Ankeny is probably hungry for more wins as they had a rough 0-3 start, including as loss to Waukee that probably shouldn't have happened.

Centennial is undefeated and has some good players, but I don't think there offense is well suited against Dowling's defense. Gibbons can throw the ball, but there passing only seems to work once the ground game has already been established, which they probably won't do against Dowling (Dowling has the best run-D in the state)

So Cent. would finish as a 2 seed and Urbandale most likely out of the playoffs? So would you see the 2 Ankeny teams matching up round 1 of the playoffs?

You're assuming that Ankeny beats Lewis Central, that we will know in a week. But let's say for argument sake that Ankeny beats Lewis Central and ACHS loses to Dowling. AHS at best would be the 3 seed probably 4 seed in the West as a district champ and ACHS would be the 5 seed as the best District runner up, maybe the 6 seed depending how they rank Lewis Central and ACHS.

So there is a strong possibility that there could be an AHS/ACHS in round one because the alternative would be AHS/LC district rematch and I don't think that state will do that.

Agree the state would look silly to rematch two teams from the same district in the opening round.
