Any news on Schmitt and Ripley? I saw the Hempstead game and it looked like the bodies were wearing out.

Cael Schmitt (averaging 17 points) hurt his back right after halftime of the Hempstead game, and didn't suit up against Iowa City West, but was stiffly walking around. Isaac Ripley (averaging 10.5) dove after a loose ball and hit his leg against a bleacher in the Hempstead game. He also was walking around in street clothes at the Iowa City West game. Hopefully both will be back soon, but Wahlert is in the midst of a stretch of playing all ranked teams- Hempstead, IC West, Dub. Senior, Cedar Falls, West Waterloo and Hempstead again, then unranked Linn-Mar and Xavier. Yikes. Been a horrible year for injuries. Starters Schockemoehl (leg) and Bandy (arm) both got out of splints/casts in October and center Topping is just back from mononucleosis.

My nephew played on an AAU team with pretty much all the centennial kids. Basically they have 4 high level division 2 players. And for those who don’t really know anything about lower level college basketball, Division 2 basketball is = to FCS football in quality of talent. Some of these 4A teams do have a D1 player or even 2, but 4 D2 players is just insane. Not to mention a very good athlete in Brady Peterson who is a 6’6 iowa state football commit. They just have athletes all up and down there roster. Also not understanding all this Payton Sandfort love. He played absolutely terrible against centennial and was dominated by a D2 player
