Thursday Night Games, Scores, Comments

After playing Montezuma a week before break, we get GVC tonight...yay.

Well, it will be fun watching them play...even if they do destroy us.

Up next for the CNOS classic at the Tyson Event Center in Sioux City will be the SC North Stars (2-5) vs the Dakota Valley Panthers (3-2), South Dakota). That includes a 73-65 loss against Sgt.Bluff-Luton.

Tomorrow, SC East faces off against future MRAC member LeMars.

Saturday night, Bishop Heelan plays Omaha Skutt.

DBQ Senior over Prairie 65-60. Senior was without a starter, figured it could be a long night for them but they pretty much scored whenever they wanted tonight. Prairie has a ways to go.

Aplington- Parkersburg 70, Gladbrook- Reinbeck 48
Dubuque Senior 66, Cedar Rapids Prairie 60. Senior led at the half 32- 27. Rams' Noah Carter with 26 points. He makes scoring look easy. CRP had been undefeated in the MVC Conference. Senior has played only one game this season with an intact starting lineup. Rams also win soph game on last-second three by Cain McWilliams (27 points), who I think could be a D1 football player someday. .

Do you know what happened to the Senior starter? Carroll I think? Saw he had a big knee brace on. Would be a big blow to a talented Senior team if he is out for a while.

More Thursday Night

West Sioux 70, H-M-S 39
Treynor 66, Creston 38
SB- Luten 68, LeMars 57
Rock Valley 66, Lennox 62
Decorah 65, SW, Calhoun 58
Boyden-Hull 72, MOC 50
Ames 55, Urbandale 39

And for Hawki45- A "hearsay" unspecified knee injury for 6-3 swingman Marshaun Carroll, Senior's 4th leading scorer. Local coaches very tight-lipped about players' personal medical conditions. Senior just got Sam Link back, and Western Dubuque's starter Calvin Harris just back after a severe concussion sustained in the 3A football title game. Starter Luke Schockemoehl has missed every game for Wahlert with undisclosed medical illness, also. And this is just a small sample of the players out all around the state; that's why rankings get so tough to evaluate.
