Who will lead the state in scoring per game this season? Also, here are the top 70 returning scorers courtesy of quikstats (this is based off of last year so any school changes do not apply):

Joe Smoldt or Jay Small....they play on small 1A teams where they get plenty of shots...3A or 4A players typically have too many good players on a team to get enough shots and competition is better...

GR lost more offensive threats, so I think a lot of weight will fall on Smoldt's shoulders. Not sure if that will help or hurt his scoring, but I'm going with Smoldt.

Do not be surprised if Joe Wieskamp leads the state in scoring though either. Now with all the size being gone from PV they can't turn basketball games into a crawl, so expect MAC scoring to go up as a whole. There will be limited players in the league that will match up well with Wieskamp and he will be the focal point of that offensive even more with new coaches.

Suni Lane from Bettendorf is really the only player I can think of that will match up with Wieskamp speed and size wise.

North, North Scott, PV, and Central all have guys who are quick enough to guard him, but not really strong enough or tall enough.
