..........................................................................................................................................
Highland athlete Trent Lasek
What colleges have been recruiting you?
"I don't know. I'll just see how this year plays out and see what offers I get. I'm not really looking to go into sports. I may just go to Iowa but you never know."

What schools have shown attention?
"I haven't really gotten a lot. Me and the Iowa Wesleyan coach talked but that is about it right now."

What would make you change your mind?
"It all depends on what colleges offer me. I would have to find a good school that is a good for fit me."

Des Moines Christian guard Ben Juhl
What colleges have been recruiting you?
"I have an offer from Grand View and then I also got some interest lately from Wayne State and Upper Iowa. Kirkwood has given me some letters and texts recently. That has been the most interest."

What schools are recruiting you the hardest?
"I would probably say Kirkwood. I've been hearing from them a lot recently."

A level preference
"I guess it is kind of where I am comfortable at. I know I can compete at a pretty high level but playing basketball in college is the main goal."

A final decision
"I haven't decided on that yet. I think there is a good chance that I might wait until after basketball season this winter."

Visits
"I am trying to find some dates for visits. I am looking around at which colleges to visit."

Schools to visit
"I think I'll take a visit to Grand View and I might look at some other schools. I might get to Southwest Minnesota State and maybe Sioux Falls."

..........................................................................................................................................
West Des Moines Valley forward Quinton Curry
Recruiting
"It is still the same four colleges I've been talking to that have offered with Truman State, Rockhurst, Hillsdale, and Upper Iowa. I am still also keeping in contact with Winona State and Minnesota State. Other than that, not a whole lot."

The visit dates
Truman State - September 17th
Rockhurst - October 1st
Hillsdale - October 8th
Upper Iowa - November 2nd

Do you want to sign this fall?
"That is an interesting question. I am kind of stuck now. I think Drake might still be interested depending on how I come back. I am going to make decisions with a plan of deciding in late November. If I decide that those schools are not the right fit, I might wait until the spring. It also depends on how well I come back and if I can come back better than ever. If I end up really like one of those schools and it is somewhere I'd love to go to, then I'll sign in late November."

..........................................................................................................................................
Waukee forward Jacob Rau
Recruiting
"I would just like to keep that to myself. It is from a variety of different levels."

The levels of interest
"It has been a lot of NAIA, DII, and some DI."

Visits
"I haven't really at all besides Kearney."

The Kearney visit
"I went out earlier this summer. It was really eye opening. I really enjoyed it."

Other visits
"I'm not really sure right now. It kind of depends. I have a workout that some coaches will be getting up to and then I'll go from there."

The coaches visiting
"I think it is a lot of Midwest schools. I am not exactly sure."

..........................................................................................................................................
Northeast Gooselake athlete Luke Empen
Recruiting
"For basketball, I have Briar Cliff and Augustana so far. They are the big ones."

Visits
"No, I haven't made any."

Recruiting for other sports
"I do have some interest from Northwest Missouri State for football."

A favorite sport
"I do not. I like whatever sport I am in the most."

..........................................................................................................................................
Pella athlete Tyson Wassenaar
What colleges are recruiting you?
“I know that Iowa State has given me a chance to watch one of their home games. I am excited about that. UNI has contacted me and told me that they will stay in contact. I am going to play as hard as I can the first couple of games and they will get back to me when the time is right.”

What schools will you be visiting?
“I will probably visit the University of Iowa again. I visited this past summer and I want to visit them and probably the University of Minnesota. It will be those four colleges.”

..........................................................................................................................................
Carroll linebacker Dayton Ross
What schools are recruiting you?
“Holy Cross has been showing me interest. Then it has been Minnesota State, Southwest Minnesota State, Wayne State, Winona State, Upper Iowa, and Northwest Missouri State. I plan to go on visits to all of those schools. UNI had me for a visit during the spring. I am also planning to get to Morningside for a game day trip.”

What colleges are recruiting you the hardest?
“I’d say probably Holy Cross and Wayne State are recruiting the hardest. Then it maybe Minnesota State and Southwest Minnesota State.”

A favorite
“I don't really have a favorite right now. I obviously like Morningside a lot because there is where my brother is going to school. I guess I’ll know more when I go on visits.”

..........................................................................................................................................
Ankeny Centennial athlete Ryan VanBaale
Have you had any interest from college coaches?
“Nope, not yet.”

Are you doing any visits this fall?
“Not that I know of.”
