Looks like the jump from 2A to 3A was significant as Spirit Lake got hammered by LeMars. Is it really that much of a jump or is Spirit Lake down a bit this year?

The recruiting bit them in the ass. Grabbing kids from boji, rock valley and surrounding areas. I have a source who is a booster for them. Says the school creates jobs and housing for the families. Also took private jet to snag Kreiner and paid half a mortgage to grab Coburn from HMS in basketball.

LeMars is just a fluke imo. A bunch of parents cried to the school board about the coach not letting everyone play. So gave him an ult to change the program. They will get smoked by SBL and Heelan.

After Xavier, Pella, Norwalk, and possibly West Delaware I think there are a lot of questions. Spirit Lake did lose quite a bit from last years team.

I struggled with SpL being ranked so high from the get go, moving up a class. Some people just can't get over the numbers. Luke has some of these smaller schools ranked in his top 25, No way could Pella Christian beat Bett, maybe DSM North, but not any of the power programs. Pella, Norwalk, Heelan could run with many, but the trenches become more of a reality in 4A and smaller schools would get demolished in the line play. They might have some better skill players, but even that is a stretch.

Get over the recruiting. Its Capitalism, embrace it.
