The Solon Spartans girls won their own cross country meet Monday at the Solon Invitational.
Solon scored 49 points to edge a team from City High that scored 63. Lauren Benzing won the race in 15 minutes and 8 seconds, 26 seconds ahead of Maddie Hinsley of Clear Creek Amana.
"We had four girls in the top 15," Solon coach Emy Williams said. "That is just a really strong race."
Mount Vernon-Lisbon won the boys race with 26 points
