Haha considering they use their 2 non-district games to play (and usually beat) 2 top tier 3A teams every year, these matchups aren't exactly "hypothetical." But I agree, Regina should get out of 3A and schedule a real matchup with Iowa City West or Iowa City High. They've tried but West and City have yet to accept. With that said though, the last two years have been the weakest Regina teams in a while (probably since 2008)

Those lineman can lift all that weight, yet can't keep people out of the end zone. Those bench press numbers came in handy for today's game. What a joke.
What on earth would I be salty about? Regina fans were literally stating that Regina's OLine was one of the best in the state, they were totally neutralized by WC. Great OLines adjust to the team they're playing and are still successful. They weren't. Period.
A little word to the wise, if Regina fans can talk a lot, they better be able to take it.
Wasn't the line that got beat today. It was the people behind the line on defense that didn't pull their weight. And a lack of ability (or desire) to throw the ball on O.
Lol a lot of keyboard warriors on this site. I don't get on here much, but all I'll say is the facts are that Regina beat a 3A quarterfinal team 34-0, and they gave the #2 3A team their closest game of the season other than Pella. And did this all with probably the weakest team Regina's had since 2008. So none of the keyboard warriors on a 3A forum are exactly in a position to talk down to Regina or it's players. It's quite pathetic.
I think these "Keyboard Warriors" get on here to give it back to Regina for the amount of talking their fan base does. Again, I would urge you, if your fan base can dish it out, you better be able to take it. You didn't take care of your business in 1A, yet there were discussions about how Regina would be able to keep it close with Pella, this is where fans are going to really jump in and take shots at Regina, especially when you can't even win 1A. And you keep bringing up, "this is the weakest team Regina's had since 2008.", more excuses and it becomes easier to take even more shots at Regina. If this was one of you weakest teams (since 2008), then you would think the fan base would shut up and be thankful that this team was even in the 1A Title game, but that's not what happen, what happened was hypothetical games situations came up of beating a 3A team on a super long win streak and defending 2 time state champ. So you(Regina fan base) can call out the big boys all you want, then when you are beat and people start poking fun(which is what it is) you start getting butthurt? You (Regina fan base) are just proving to people they were right on their assumption of Regina fans. Talk a big game when we win but when we lose, you better not say one word about us. Now to me, that is pathetic.
Most people were LOLing too when someone said that Regina could keep it close with Pella.
You realise somebody on the 3A forum brought that up? Not a Regina person. But yes, they could keep it close with Pella. Pella is lucky to have beaten Xavier.
Again with the "luck". Keep believing that BigDan. What's the next statement? Regina has the best line in the state? Oh wait....that's already be claimed.
I can't argue anymore without looking like a jerk. All I'm going to say is, stick to 1A, don't call out the big boys and lose and not expect to get some smack talk in return.
Smack is expected, especially from someone who calls out Xavier and Pella coaches. 296 yards rushing and 7.4 average yards per rush aren't awful in a championship game aren't that bad. They got beat by a good team, it happens. To think they wouldn't be competitive against Pella is an interesting debate. The game comparisons say probably. Now if Gator were coaching Pella and their tall receivers it would probably be 80 or 90 to minus 12. I do enjoy someone posting a poll about Regina and then going faux outrage that their supporters would respond. The reality is that on these boards a decent amount of discussion is contributed by Regina supporters. Want less Regina discussion? Bring them up less, get more of your peers to contribute, start better threads, etc. pretty simple concept.
Can I ask a really dumb question? Was Regina any good before the current group of coaches took over, Marv Cook, etc.? I honestly don't remember hearing much about Regina football ten, fifteen or twenty years ago, or before that. But, I am a 4A, 3A guy.

They were pretty bad in the 90's, Kevin Miller came in for a year, Chuck Evans won a state championship and then Marv and the gang arrived.
Can you qualify 'below avg.' for me please? It's a nice troll effort so I am sure you can support your position?
All I remember is Tanner Miller had about 300 yds at half the game I watch against Mid P. But Regina was playing I believe in 2a so yes they would of been I real good 1a school
They lost to Solon(state champion) and Mid Prairie(lost to Solon) that year, the previous year(Marv's first) they went 12-1 and lost in the finals. The following year they were 10-2 with both losses coming to Solon(one of the best high school teams to come out of Iowa). Miller shredded them and they changed an entire defensive concept due to it. The results? Most schools would take those 'below average' results.
Is the Cook gal playing for West Coach Cooks daughter?
