Games came out fairly predictably. Surprised that Highland beat Durant, although Highland has a solid coaching staff and it isn't all that much of an upset in my book. Didn't expect bgm to get throttled by ed-co, expected Hudson to more thoroughly dominate L-S as well. I think this is as open of playoffs as I can ever remember, but leaning towards Garrigan to take the cake at this point.

Garrigan wins solidly!! Their defense is something else. Downside they had a line backer get hurt in the 2nd quarter, broke his hand. He was their leading tackler. Hopefully he can get back for next week. Man Wapsie was a very good team. I would go as far as saying they are top 5. To bad this had to be a first round matchup.

Wins solidly?! Lol obviously your a idiot.... was a game that lived up to the billing wapsie shot themselves in the foot with turnovers. You could see the difference of a team of sophomores n a team of seniors tonight. Garrigan has the ball fall their way with turnovers. I think it was 3 fumbles of their own that they jumped back on. Converted a big fourth down late to go ahead. The wapsie 6 yard punt from the 10 to set up the first score. I will say they hit hard played tough. If that game is played 10 times it’s 5/5. Best of luck to garrigan the rest of the way. The ppl for the most part were a class act one the best places I have ever been too. Only issue I had was the honking of the horns after plays and what not. Pretty sure that is illegal come playoff time. Also when they honked a horn a few times like 2 seconds before wapsie was going to snap the ball was uncalled for.

Ummm.. Wapsie literally couldn’t move the ball. And if not for an interception that puts wapsie at the ten, which took them 4 plays to score, it’s a two score win. Which, in my opinion, is a solid win against a great team So obviously ur the idiot. Like I said both were very very good teams. And wapsie is not as sophomore led as you say tbh. Ik they’re skill players are sophomores but they’re best players are certainly in the trenches. Kleitsch, Blaylock, and the older Sauerbrei are by far the best players on that team and they are all upper classman. Not to mention all the other starting linemen are all juniors or seniors if I’m not mistaken. Not dissing wapsie in any way. You guys will be dang good next year.

If your playing that game then take away the garrigan score before half on the shanked punt that went 6 yards lol. Wapsie was moving the ball in the fourth quarter. We threw 2 picks inside the 20 yard line and on a 3rd drive wapsie was on like the 25 and couldn’t pick up a 4th and 1. They moved the ball solid. Also you haven’t seen enough wapsie games because the two best players on that team r sophomores. Our qb and rb. Tonight was by far the worst game the qb had. I dk what happened with him maybe nerves I dk but he was off bad.

Garrigan/WV was a tough defensive battle. Could have went either way, just didn’t go our way. Garrigan players were to notch kids though, played hard and good sports. Best of luck! One oddity, for those that weren’t there, WV had a lineman break his leg in Q3 and then I believe on the very next play (maybe two) the kid from Garrigan broke his arm. Definitely unfortunate, but not sure I have ever witnessed that.

You’re acting like it was by chance that wapsie threw picks and couldn’t convert big downs.... garrigan out powered and out played them. Like I said, best of luck to wapsie next year very very good, young team. And dude, you obviously dont know football if u think ur line is not the best part of your team. Garrigan has man handled every line they have gone against this year besides wapsies. The Kleitsch kid is no joke. And Blaylock is very good too. When two of ur top 5 tacklers are d-tackles that’s damn impressive. And I honestly didn’t think that back was very great. He obviously has two years to grow and become stronger but compared to Christian seres or tucker kroeze or Tate Hagen which are all backs that either BG or WV have seen, he’s not even in that conversation.

Great game to be there and watch. Both offenses struggled, as the defensive cordinators sent lots of different looks to both sides. It came down to some crucial plays in the end. Both sides had there ups and downs but in the end the game ended the way it did. My nephew did tell me after the game that Wapsie showed great sportsmanship. It did get chippy sometimes but I believe that’s the nature of playoff football. Edgewood is going to be very tough though. There a complete anomaly to me though. We don’t have any common opponents and I’ve never even heard of some of the smaller schools they’ve played.

I have to agree that Wapsie had a tough physical line. They got off the ball hard and really caused havoc. It’s true, Garrigan has beaten up on every line they’ve played this year, but Wapsie went toe to toe with us. You are right though, I can definitely see a sophomore quarterback being really nervous for a game like that

I will say the ref calls were definitely in favor of Wapsie all night the roughing the passer call and the pass interference call were horse crap and the blatant block in the back on Wapsie and there offensive line holding Garrigan #73 every other play on last couple drives that didn’t get called not saying that’s Wapsie’s fault but the refs did Garrigan no favors

Wapsie's lack of ability in running the ball was more driven by Garrigan's dominance over Wapsie's O line than the running back. To Garrigan's credit there were no holes. Wapsie's O line has struggled a lot of the season to create lanes. Also, the RB has been battling a sprained shoulder the last few weeks, so I give him credit for toughing through it. We had opportunities to pass but the QB's decision on where to throw it was questionable at times. He's young and will improve. Would agree that Wapsie's D line and linebackers played very well and had been coming on the last few weeks.

Best of luck to Garrigan the rest of the way! Wapsie, work hard in the offseason and come back hard next year!

It just shows how much wapsie football you have watched with you saying that. Obviously it’s just one game.

Can I ask what pass interference you are talking about? If you are talking about the one in the end zone it was clearly pass interference. The roughing the passer call I will agree with didn’t think that was.

How old are you? If you are older than 12, I’d be shocked. But not really surprised.
