Lets hear your bold predictions for the quarterfinals...

Bracket A

West Sioux, Hawarden (9-1) at South Central Calhoun (10-0)

Bracket B

Pella Christian (7-3) at Bellevue (10-0)

Bracket C

Dike-New Hartford (10-0) at Interstate 35, Truro (10-0)

Bracket D

West Branch (9-1) at Van Meter (10-0)

West Sioux
PC
DNH
WB
I think that WB and VM will be the closest game of the night. I think PC wins if they get in Clasen's head early due to temper problems. West Sioux should win easily. DNH should win but I35 has been a huge surprise to most of the state so far.

Anyone have game insights or score predictions? SSC has a pretty good defense, but can they slow down West Sioux? Same with VM, can they slow down WB? Another high scoring game for PC as they travel to Bellevue? I35 has talent at the qb, rb, and wr spots. Will that be enough to take down dnh as they will travel a ways south to Truro?

Not in my lifetime... Butch and co. will choke

There are alot of teams that dont even get a chance in a "big game", all due respect.

WB hasn't won a big one on awhile. That's fine. But they continuously get to their fair share and then some. Give them some credit or you can continue to be an 'Anonymous' DB.

West Branch has had decent teams since their last Championship, 26 years ago.
They have often scheduled down a class in non-district, win weak Districts that Butch has lobbied to create to avoid Regina and others. And, it has worked to put some wins on the board.

But, when the tough games come, they have consistently failed to measure up. They were lucky to avoid DNH this round, but if Van Meter can put together a good plan to slow their QB transfer Cornwell, they will likely knock out WB right on schedule.

Any thoughts on PC vs Bellevue...?

Also I heard something about Bellevue's RB getting hurt vs Mepo. Is that true???

He got hurt week 6, missed week 7 and 8, played week 9, then had 325 total yards and 4 touchdowns against Mediapolis. He had one time where he got up slow and hobbled but that was in the 2nd quarter, and played through the 3rd before they took him out with the other regulars.... so in short, unless something really flared up afterward he's fine.

Aight! Thanks.

Should be a great game, can't wait to see it.

SSC is aggressive on D, but I'm not sure they have the horses to beat West Sioux. Really, WL moved the ball on SSC and West Sioux's offense is on another level. I'm going to take WS by 28.

The key is to take away Lynott but that is easier said than done. He does so much for their offense and they are able to get him the ball through quick passes and screen. Will be interesting how SSC's top defense fairs against them.

Lot of road team favorites ... maybe a flaw in the RPI system when it comes to siting games

West Lyon got into the red zone three times against SCC. Credit the SCC defense for forcing miscues by the West Lyon offense. However, West Sioux’s offense is on another level and will be able to finish drives against SCC. Granted Lynott is a big piece of West Sioux’s offense, but they are far from one dimensional. SCC will hope the weather is terrible to help slow the West Sioux offense. West Sioux should win big.

How will West Sioux’s line match up with SCC? I believe SCC is a pretty physical team. Can WS hold up for 4 qtrs?

West Sioux is as physical as they come. They are physical but like to get the ball to space quickly. It will be interesting to see how SSC attacks WS. SSC has a freshman starting at CB that will have his hands full. SSC should be able to move the ball on WS, but outscoring their offense will be a challenge.
