How did the football season go for your team?
“Our season started off really well. We started 4-1, but we ended with a 1-3 record. We had some injuries within the team that hurt us a bit, but the teams we lost to worked hard and outperformed us.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“Personally, my workout plans haven't changed. I lift every day, swapping arm and leg days, and focusing on core and legs the most to gain and get as much potential as possible before next season. On arm days, I usually kick, whether that's on the football field in the snow or in a gym. In the spring and summer, I will be doing sprints as well in order to keep cardio and leg speed up.

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“For me, the area I'd like to improve the most is my kickoff leg. I believe I had 12-touchbacks this previous season, which was great, but I would love to bring that number and touchback percentage up.”

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“I think our team will be able to perform really well and end near the top of our district. I think if we as a team can keep encouraging each other in the weight room, and build the relationships now, we will have a lot more fun during the season. Hopefully all the work everybody puts in shows during the season too.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“I'm not entirely sure what our schedule looks like yet. I think our hardest game will be an out-of-district game, whether that is Boyden-Hull or Sioux Center.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, football.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven't been really recruited much yet. Being a kicker means being one of the last to be looked at.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“No, I haven't.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I will probably go to a kicking specific camp to get re-ranked. I am also considering the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, SDSU, ISU, and the University of Iowa camps.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I never really watched college sports or followed anybody until this past fall, so no.”
