How did the baseball season go for your team?
“Our season went pretty well. We had our ups and downs, and we were playing our best baseball at the end of the year. We lost second round in playoffs. We got down big early, but I was proud of our team’s effort and toughness to make it a close game again. Our senior leadership really carried us throughout the year.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“My fall ball season with my club team just finished up, so I’ll be taking a month off of baseball. I’ll be starting off season pitching and hitting with my guys.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I am going to keep working in the weight room and translate my strength to driving the balls opposite field, cleaning up hitting mechanics, and get a couple more balls out of the park.”
How do you believe your high school baseball team will be next season?
“I think we’ll be really solid this upcoming summer. We expect to be competing for a championship. We are returning a lot of great bats and great senior arms in Jacob Smith, Drew Turner, and Brayden Rickertson.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for the 2021 season?
“I have a great amount of respect for Marion. Two legendary coaches, 2 great baseball programs. A couple of my Perfect Game teammates play for Marion, they have a few D1 guys. It always means something when it's Marion and Solon.”
What sport do you want to play in college?
“I think baseball provides the greatest opportunity to play in college.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I had a few correspondents with some programs, but nothing significant yet.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“Covid has delayed recruiting and we’re checking who and what colleges want to have me visit and go to their camps.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Iowa Hawkeyes. You hope I would be a Hawks fan, hence my name.”
