How did the football season go for your team?
“The past season didn't go how we wanted it to. The schedule definitely had some difficult games on it, but we were still hoping to be competitive throughout the year.”

What are your workout plans now going forward?
“The past few months we've been following a basic lifting program. Now that winter sports are ending, we'll be able to get some more guys in the weight room with us, which will help a lot with intensity and making improvements.”

What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“Personally, I've made it a goal to get faster in terms of both speed and lateral movement. I am working on reacting to the ball faster on defense. As a team, we just want to make improvements in all aspects of the game, really.”

How do you believe your team will be next season?
“Despite our recent struggles, I still keep a positive outlook and stay confident in myself and my teammates. After seeing our district draw, I think there are some good matchups. We can put ourselves in a good position to have a better season than most would think.”

What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“I'm not sure of what our non-district games are for next season, but I think from who I know we're playing now, I'd say Johnston.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“If I get an opportunity to play at a school that I like both the academics and athletics, then I do plan on playing football in college.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I've talked to a coach from UNI and a coach from Iowa State has messaged me on twitter about a camp. Other than that, I've reached out to all the teams in the Ivy League and have had contact with coaches from Harvard and Dartmouth. I've talked to a few DIII teams as well that are ranked high academically.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“There isn't one that has really stuck out so far.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I went and toured the University of Chicago while I was in the city, but that's it so far.”

What camps are you going to this summer?
“I'll go to camps held by Iowa, Iowa State, and UNI. I might go to one held by Wash U in St. Louis, or possibly the Chicagoland camp that Northwestern runs.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I've always been a big Iowa fan growing up.”
