How did the football season go for your team?
“Though the record may not reflect it, I thought my team had a very good season. We had a close squad of guys that made going to workouts and practice fun. There were a couple games that came down to the last second that sadly didn’t go our way. That is why the record was what it ended up being. I don’t think that itself is a good representation on how good of a team we were last season.”
What are your workout plans now going forward?
“I’m lifting around three or four times a week with the strength coach we have at the school. And on Wednesday mornings, we have speed and agility.”
What are you trying to improve on the most this off-season?
“I’m trying to focus a lot on improving my speed. This past season, I felt like I was at a disadvantage at times on the field due to my speed. That’s a big focus of mine this off-season.”
What is the toughest game on your schedule for 2018?
“I haven’t seen the whole schedule for next season, so I can’t give a final answer on this one, but out of the new district, I think Johnston will be a tough one. They had a very successful season last year where they almost made it to the Dome. I know they got a bunch of good athletes in my grade that have lots of experience. I’m excited for the challenge and seeing where we match up against them.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would like to play sports in college, specifically football.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven’t been recruited by any coaches at the moment.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips yet. I have been talking about it with my parents lately and we plan on taking some trips real soon.”
What camps are you going to this summer?
“I went to a few last summer and I had good time at all of them, so I plan on going back to Minnesota State, Northwest Missouri State, Iowa, and Iowa State. I have a couple of teammates that I go to the camps with, so we will probably end up going to some new ones this summer that they have some interest in. We just haven’t talked about it yet.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I was a big Iowa State fan growing up. I always loved watching the Cy-Hawk game and rooting for them. All my friends were big Hawk fans, so it was always fun to see them lose.”
