Team Strengths:
Height, returning scoring, and inside-outside players
Question Marks:
Mental toughness to repeat as conference champions and make a run at State
Overview:
If there ever was a Marion team that could finally break through playing in a
difficult substate, this might be the year. The Indians are a very senior
laden team (See above) that returns size, athleticism, and experience. Now
if the team can put it together, look for them to improve on their 17-5 record.
Allen Reisner led the team in scoring last winter as a junior and his return
will be huge for the team. This talented senior is also among the best
football players in Iowa and has a chance to go Division I in that sport.
Jake Cram was second on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per game and is a
solid floor leader. If the team can quickly change from football to
basketball and stay focused, the Indians could be playing at the State
tournament.
