Rocket, it surprises me too that MOC isn't better. Not sure I would say a little above avg...9-1 isn't bad. If they are only little above avg then 2a is full of avg to below avg teams. However, SL did put together their most complete game of year last night. No turnovers I believe and very few penalties. Spirit Lake has been running the ball very well since Rock Valley game.

Please don't use MOC as your measuring stick for the talent level in 2A. Their football program has bee declining for the past 4 to 5 years at all levels, junior high to varsity. I'm not sure why, but I think a lot of the real good athletes in that area aren't going out for football. Probably more concentration on basketball. As far as 2A District 1/2 goes, Sioux Center, BHRV, and Spirit Lake (in that order) are all very good teams and very capable this year of doing some work in the dome. CLGLR comes in right behind those three. They have a lot of talent and great coaching, just very, very young. Sheldon had a down year, but wilth their coaching, they will bounce back. MOC looks to be in a massive football drought and just really hasn't been very good for quite a few years.

Don't think I was using MOC as a measuring stick. I stated it was SLs most complete game of year. I also said SL was 9-1 and IMHO better than slightly above avg. that's all. MOC was stomped by SC, RV and SL...no surprise there.
