Playoff Picture going into Final Week of Regular Season:

1's vs. 4's:
-Newell-Fonda (D1, #1) (9-0, 7-0) vs. Harris Lake Park (D2, #4) (4-4, 3-3) **80 Miles**

-Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn (D2, #1) (8-0, 6-0) vs. Kingsley-Pierson (D1, #4) (7-3, 4-3) **25 Miles**

-Janesville (D3, #1) (8-0, 6-0) vs. Meskwaki Settlement School (D5, #4) (4-5, 3-3) **56 Miles**

-Central, Elkader (D4, #1) (9-0, 7-0) vs. Tripoli (D3, #4) (5-4, 3-3) **51 Miles**

-Don Bosco, Gilbertville (D5, #1) (7-0, 6-0) vs. Springville (D4, #4) (5-5, 4-3) **51 Miles**

-Moravia (D6, #1) (9-0, 7-0) vs. Murray (D7, #4) (4-5, 2-3) **69 Miles**

-Glidden-Ralston (D7, #1) (8-0, 5-0) vs. Stanton (D8 #4) (6-3, 4-3) **98 Miles** (this is the shortest distance Stanton could travel)

-Lenox (D8, #1) (9-0, 7-0) vs. Twin Cedars, Bussey (D6, #4) (5-4, 4-3) **109 Miles** (this is the shortest distance Twin Cedars could travel)

2's vs. 3's gets a little more complex & the state has it work cut out. Here's how I see it:

-Exira/EHK (D1, #2) (8-1, 6-1) vs. East Mills (D8, #3) (7-2, 5-2) **66 Miles**

-Graettinger-Terril/RA (D2, #2) (8-1, 5-1) vs. North Iowa, Buffalo Center (D3, #3) (5-4, 4-2) **51 Miles**

-Northwood-Kensett (D3, #2) (7-2, 5-1) vs. West Bend Mallard (D2, #3) (4-4, 4-2) **105 Miles**

-Turkey Valley (D4, #2) (7-2, 6-1) vs. Colo-NESCO (D5, #3) (7-2, 4-2) **120 Miles**

-H-L-V, Victor (D5, #2) (8-1, 5-1) vs. Midland, Wyoming (D4, #3) (6-3, 5-2) **99 Miles** (Next closest for Midland would be Northwood 189 Miles away, so they have to go to HLV)

-Wayne, Corydon (D6, #2) (8-1, 6-1) vs. East Union, Afton (D7, #3) (6-3, 3-2) **65 Miles**

-Coon Rapids-Bayard (D7, #2) (6-3, 4-1) vs. Ar-We-Va, Westside (D1, #3) (7-2, 5-2) **35 Miles**

-Fremont Mills, Tabor (D8, #2) (8-1, 6-1) vs. Mormon Trail, Garden Grove (D6, #3) (6-3, 5-2) **129 Miles** (closest place they could go would be HLV at 123 miles, but Midland is going to have to go there, as there is no way around that. State will have to break the 125 mile limitation.)

Here are my picks from last week. State can go quite a few different ways on the west side. Still some big games this week that could shake things up. Looking forward to watching the MMC vs WBM game!!

Newell-Fonda vs Harris-Lake Park
Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton vs East Mills
Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn vs Kingsley-Pierson
Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire vs ArWeVa, Westside
Janesville vs Springville
Northwood-Kensett vs Colo-Nesco
Central, Elkader vs Meskwaki Settlement
Turkey Valley vs North Iowa
Don Bosco vs Tripoli
H-L-V, Victor vs Midland, Wyoming
Moravia vs Murray
Wayne, Corydon vs East Union, Afton
Glidden-Ralston vs Stanton
Coon Rapids-Bayard vs West Bend-Mallard
Lenox vs Twin Cedars, Bussey
Fremont-Mills vs Mormon Trail, Garden Grove

All games are non district and within the 125 mile limitation. Only NF vs HLP and HLV vs Midland have played each other. Mormon trail, Garden Grove is right at 125 miles taking black tops to Tabor if I remember right.

I like both of your picks for the first week of the playoffs. That WBM vs MMC game will tell us a lot more about where everyone will go. I feel like WBM is a weird match up for MMC. They're almost exact opposite teams as far as size and style. I see MMC coming out on top at the end of the night. Going to try to make it over there and hopefully see a good game!

I think it plays out like last year and Meskwaki travel to Elkader for the 1st round game. Then the state can avoid matching someone up who has already played since Elkader and Tripoli played week 1.

So DB vs Tripoli
Janesville vs Springville
Central Elkader vs Meskwaki

I think you are pretty spot on with everything else.

Just looking at this and you could actually flip around the Fremont and Coon Rapids opponents and still stay inside the 125 mile restrictions. Garden Grove from Coon Rapids is right at 125 Miles according to my map site and Westside to Tabor is also inside the 125 miles. Also keeps any district or non-district rematches out of play as well. Either way it looks like Mormon Trail will have to be traveling a long ways if the state chooses to stay away from district rematches.

Mormon trail, Garden Grove is right at 125 miles taking black tops to Tabor if I remember right.

It does look like if you cut cross-country, maybe even gravel roads, Garden Grove can be right at or just under 125 miles from Tabor. I'm not sure what the IAHSAA uses though, if they go with just a straight-line 125 miles, or more like google maps.

Another questions is, do they measure from the High School or where the football home field is? Mormon Trail's High School is in Garden Grove, but their football field is in Humeston, which would add about 10 miles as the crow flies.
