These LHC rivals face off in Knoxville Monday night. Knoxville says they can hold 2,000 15" butts in the seats. With larger butt sizes as of late and this game being in high demand due to Xavier Foster playing several hundred could be turned away. Hard to believe the boys in Boone would turn away precious dollars and potentially limit fans from the area to miss this game. Unfortunate situation for what could be an extremely entertaining high school contest.

That does seem ridiculous to hold that game there. Knoxville has hosted 1a substates which were packed. The 3a title game with Norwalk Osky last year had 1st and 2nd levels full and had to open the upper 300s at Wells.
Wonder if they could've moved it to Central, William Penn , or maybe a Marshalltown, Newton or Ottumwa.

On the plus side, Knoxville is a really short drive for both schools and fans. Southeast Polk would've been a great venue for it.
You were only off by 15-20 points. Osky led midway through the 3rd quarter.
Luckily none of the players got hurt as fans were allowed to line the baseline under the basket. Think of the liability the State took on by allowing this to happen. What if Xavier, or anyone for that matter, in the process of blocking a shot follows through and steps on a fans foot or something and blows out his knee?
I believe they let everyone in but it was standing room only around the court and then they had a monitor in the lobby for the fans who couldn't get into the gym. Knoxville definitely used some fuzzy math to say their gym seated 2,000 to fool the association. Actual body counts on one side were in the 800 range and both sides are identical. Anyway it was a great environment and entertaining game.
I just checked out pictures of Knoxville's gym, very surprising it was built so small. 10+ years ago, they were one of the largest 3A schools in the state.
You been to Knoxville in the last 10 years? Should of set up a court inside the race track?!
