Parents asking BOEE to investigate Linn-Mar over abuse allegations

Saw this on the Metro Sports Report, I've heard nothing but stellar things from the football program at L-M, being a part of the marion community I've heard nothing but positive things about Coach Forsyth so this seems to be way out of left field. Guess we will see how it plays out...

That is odd. I would have expected if the parents were going this far (complained to the AD and now to the board) we would see specific complaints.

There was a little blip about the issue on the news tonight. They said that 50 players came to support the coach and group of parents came to oppose him. 12 players talked in support of the coach and 3 people talked against him.

I have no side in this. In education it doesn't matter how many situations and students you handled appropriately. You'll be judged on how you handle on the situations that you didn't handle right, and how many situations you didn't handle right. The weightroom situation they mentioned in the article about the kid getting his teeth broke must have two sides. Calling kids in show choir "show queers" can't really have another side. Just something you can't do.

This was a joke from the beginning. Vindictive kids upset over playing time making up stories to get back at a coach. The Iowa BOEE thankfully saw through the lies but in a sense, some damage has been done.

Vicarious Dad (or Mom depending on activity) complaining to the State will become more and more common as time rolls on. All that camp money has to be worth some extra playing time, right? It happens in every sport.

Problem is, guilty until you are proven innocent, then you still are seen as maybe guilty. Coach drug through h#ll but the parents get nothing done to them after the state clears the coach.
