Does SBL have any chance in this? Osky is just huge and I can't see how SBL keeps it close, unless they have superior guard play.

Osky 66-50

Intriguing match up because they don't play any common opponents. It is hard to tell the level of competition SBL played all year. LHC is always known to be a tough conference but it was soft this year other than Norwalk and Osky. If Osky gets their bigs to the block and they stay active on offense they will be hard to beat. Osky won't mix it up much as they have played basic basketball all year. Curious what SBL's style is. Guards have a hard time getting penetration to the rim with Osky's size. SBL has state experience, Osky doesn't. That is a huge factor no matter what anyone says. I would be surprised if this isn't a really close game.

SBL thrives in the underdog role as they showed last year. They play a tough schedule and are not intimidated by anyone. It seems like they struggled a bit at the start of the year but have been playing great basketball as of late. Osky's size might be too much for them to deal with, as it has been for most teams. That said, I still think it will be a close game.

FarmFam is right. The LHC was down this year, but Osky and Norwalk would have competed and been a favorite in any year of the LHC. They are both that good.

That said, the first game in the state tournament and at the big arena does give an advantage to the team with some experience there. I too expect it to be close, but I would guess that Osky just has too much size and too many offensive weapons. I think it helps Osky that it's a late afternoon game and not a morning or early afternoon game.

SBL played Western Christian to the wire on the road & did well against their size.

State tourney often gets dominated by guard play, so the big court could be the equalizer

Osky is modm likely going to win but they do have a little bit of trouble with athleticism if you have big guy with that then their a chance. The question is how will that handle not be at theit home court. Osky had a lot of senior on the bench. They had trouble the first quarter with Bondurant farrar athleticism they had to make some tweaks going in to second quarter. Osky has good coaching. But if they have no size for SBL pick osky to win and to be honest Kruse is the one to stop. He tough to stop when he gets going he gets hot and won't missed much.

I think Osky is a little weaker at the guard position than people realize. They look like a state title team sometimes but they've had a few really off games. I think this game is going to be a coin flip. I'll pick Osky in a tight one because athletic posts are so valuable at state, but this IMO will be the best game of the 3A quarterfinals.
