Yikes. Mono is a tough one. With the enlarged spleen as part of it, you have to be careful to avoid physical contact. Add in, conditioning will be an issue.
I had mono this time of year and it took me out of the track season. I just couldn't handle the long runs (distance runner) and was about 6 mo before I felt normal again.
