Overview:
There are big expectations once again surrounding the Des Moines Hoover
basketball team. Coach Charles Zanders is heading into his third year of
coaching and will be hoping to get the Huskies back to the State tournament.
Last winter, the team fell to West Des Moines Dowling in the substate final.
This year with three starters and ten seniors returning, Hoover has all the
makings of a great team. Raymond Miller may be the best athlete in Iowa.
Rarely does an Iowan dunk as much as this senior does. Zanders is a heady
point guard who knows how to make plays. If he is knocking down the
outside shot, watch out because the Huskies will be a tough team to beat.
