can Waukee get back up on their feet? I noticed Pat Gray, who's probably their best player after Allen, was injured on Friday.

This will be a great test to measure up how good Johnston really is. I think Waukee will have the size factor that should give Johnston some issues but as we've seen there isn't anyone on the western half to compete with Dowling. If Johnston can get a win here, that would make their district I would argue hands down the toughest, they will have no issues I can imagine with DM Roosevelt or DM North, but tough match ups in district with Dowling, SC East, and CB Lewis Central.

I guess that's what the Valley game should determine. Swenson is the only coach with a .500 or greater record against Wilson.

Personally believe the loss of Pat Gray has hurt Waukee more on the defensive side of the ball - he was all over the field and they miss his leadership.

That said, I think Waukee bounces back and wins this match-up - too much Trevor Allen for the Johnston defense, especially if Waukee can get him into 1-on-1 situations in the flats/outside.

Look for Johnston to attack the Waukee secondary thru the air and try and get Seay involved in as many ways as possible (reverses, etc).

But in the end - too much TA - Waukee 28 Johnston 20

Losing Pat Gray was HUGE for Waukee. You just don't replace a kid like that. From reading the account of the game in the paper...it sounds like everything that could go wrong for them against Dowling did! Two punts blocked, penalties, interceptions etc. all in the first quarter.

Dowling saw quite a few areas to attack from the SEP game tape in the Waukee secondary. I imagine we will see the same strategy from Johnston. Sinnett will need to be sharp and the receivers will have to make plays. The Johnston defense will have their hands full against Allen. I will say that although they gave up a few yards against Urbandale...they were extremely physical. I expect a very hard hitting intense game in Waukee on Friday.

Waukee came out a little upset after their performance last week. Johnston imploded in the first quarter with a series of bad possessions that ended in either an interception, shanked punt or fumble (one of which was returned for a TD). Waukee's passing game was stellar and they had big play after big play in the first half. When the smoke cleared, the game was over at halftime.

Waukee's defense was very impressive and hard to believe they had given up 86 points in the last two games. Very talented team that looked like a title contender last night. For their part it's back to the drawing board for Johnston! Lots to work on going forward after being exposed by Waukee last night.
