New Hampton vs CPU

My prediction is that NH will come off the rough lost against SW this past week and take it out on an OVERRATED CPU team. Even with Frerichs injured NH will move the ball up and down the field on CPU. NH defense will also shut down another overrated player on CPU in Kinsey. NH 28-7

CPU is a big, physical team that runs the ball well. I see them as one dimensional and any team with a solid rush defense is capable of stopping them. Both teams have faced solid competition and have been tested. NH will be looking to bounce back. Based on what I've seen from CPU and read about NH I would predict NH winning a close game.

I couldn't agree more. CPU played a good NFV team. The game would of been a shutout if NFV didn't have 7 turnovers. From what i heard NFV had 5 turnovers in CPU territory and muffed 2 punts. From those stats this game could of been easily a 35-0 victory for NFV. About NH they can shut down one dimensional teams like CPU. I don't see this game being close tho. unless CPU gets lucky again and NH has 4 unforced turnovers.

I dont think NH will move down the field as much as GarbageTime suggests but I do believe their defense will shut down CPU for the most part. NH 14 CPU 7

NH only put up 7 points on SW last week AND not having Frerichs on will be big as well. Also all CPU does is run the ball which will chew up a lot of clock. I dont think it is insane at all to say the game will be low scoring. GarbageTime your reasoning is straight garbage. Saying all that, I still think NH wins the game 14-7.

Tiger you are out of your mind. NH has big play ability from Tenge on both offense and defense of side of the ball. They don't need Frerichs to put up 21 points even though he is a key asset to their offense. NH is not a one man show. they have players that can make big plays on both side of the ball. so i see their drives been quick with big td receptions from tenge

CPU's "grind it out" offense will eat time and I don't see this being high scoring, but I'll take the "over" on 14 points for New Hampton. CPU has allowed 7-12-12-20 points so far this season and none of the competition they have faced is equal to New Hampton. In a game where CPU may be forced to pass vs. rush (a weakness), there is potential for pick 6's and short fields.

Frerichs is out? For how long????

They will mostly miss him on defense. Could be tough to contain Kinsey without him. Getting one of their linebackers off suspension will help a bit.

I would have favored NH by 2-3 TDs but now I'm not so sure.

And seriously Garbage...don't use Iowa Preps as a venue to put down teams or players. Have a little respect. All these kids go through a lot of hard work to provide us entertainment on Friday nights. Not a CPU or NH fan...but obviously Kinsey is a good player. Easy to be critical behind a bogus name. Anyone know what is wrong with Frerichs and how long he is out? Another hard working kid. Not ready to predict who will win this game but it should go along way in determining the pecking order this season in D-3.

Some of the arrogance regarding NH is downright comical. I would argue that NFV is just as good as NH. Now granted... NFV had many errors in the loss to CPU, but just maybe CPU contributed to that.

CPU is a program on the rise. I wouldn't write them off against NH.

Not seeing anyone in here who is from NH be arrogant. The OP is trolling--I suspect they are associated with CPU and trying to provide a little bulletin board material for Friday night.

Anyone associated with NH who attended the playoff game last year respects CPU.

I SERIOUSLY doubt the OP is a CPU fan. But I guess with less than a dozen posts... he's a little new to this message board stuff. Don't believe he's sharp enough to promote bulletin board material.

And I do agree with your premise... after losing to a 1A school, the players likely aren't taking the game as a pushover.

WTH? No one ever said that, either. That's the 2nd time in this thread.

South Winn is better than every 2A team outside of a few. They are legit. No shame in losing to them.

Spooner: Reread the OP and tell me that the poster isn't a NH fan who directly disses CPU! I don't know how anyone could take it any differently. Then the thread turns a little more objective in the following posts and guys give their reasons why CPU is the perceived underdog.

I realize you are either a native of NH or have some vested interest in the Chickasaws. So I can see why you don't accept my opinions. Doesn't really matter. Both teams will likely make the post season and have a very good year.

I'm not quite buying your opinion that SW is "better than every 2A team outside of a few". Very few teams not named Regina or Xavier can compete up a class against the best of that class. Public schools just don't normally have that success.

But you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I'm referring to the other stuff.

They just beat NH on their home field by two TDs and have only lost a handful of games in recent years playing mostly the same kids. They have skill position players good enough to start at 4A schools. What other proof do you need? The difference between 1A and 2A is not great.

Props to the guys that posted this thread! Several were pretty damn close.

Could this district end up in a 3-way tie eventually going to the tie breakers?

It could. But I predict CPU loses one more setting up a battle for the district title in West Union the final week.
