1 Regina - Title number 7 is on the Brink, man. Who replaces Phillips and Stenger?
2 Pella Christian - if healthy the Eagles are a serious contender. DKac and Jungling '16
3 Western Christian - QB and RB return for the '15 runners up
4 West Branch - Lenoch returns along with 3 OL. Who will take over QB?
5 Madrid - Santi is coming to town and endzone near you.
6 West Lyon - youth will be served for perennial powerhouse this season
7 Logan Magnolia - they where just young enough to make an impact in '16;
8 Jesup - week 9 victory over DNH was no fluke. Return at 1650 yard passer
9 Hinton - Small guys do big things. Can they (he) do enough in '16?
10 Maq Valley/Emmetsburg return enough to be considered

I like the top 4 to be in the semifinals with the new bracket system in place

3 parochials and 1 public seems fitting

For Denver in 2016 losing not one but two 1500+ rushing guys and their QB is going to leave a mark. They will be a non-factor come late October/Early November

Denver returns the entire O-Line averaging 6-2 280 and have 3-4 guys ready to replace Shedenhelm and Siech. The QB will actually be able to throw the ball unlike the last 2 years. Jesup has been playing these guys from Denver for years going back to 7th grade and has never beat them. You think Jesup is top 10 and Denver won't be good? Denver will be better than you think.

Let's go a bit more in depth on this, shall we?

1 - the week in 2015 Denver beat Jesup 28-14
2 - teams usually grow/improve the most and move to the next level between weeks 1 and 2
3 - the week that Dike-New Hartford throttled Denver 42-7 in 2015
4 - the number of major contributing skill position players Denver has to replace
5 - as in thirty-FIVE to 33, the score Jesup beat Dike-NH by in 2015 Week 9, being outgained by almost 100 yards

I have nothing against Denver, but history shows that when you lost that much firepower there is going to be a dropoff.

Let's revisit this on October 1st. Deal?

no love for my cousin Jace Moore and the mighty Clayton Ridge Eagles?
They'd played every team pretty tough last year and return a 1900 yard passer and a few OL.

Could make some noise in the best District in Class 1A, D3.
West Branch is gonna be pretty good with Lenoch. Jesup's QB and offensive system is good. Maq Valley RB is a beast!

I remember about 3 years ago when Jesup's going to be seniors were freshman they hosted Denver's JV at home and beat them like 40-0 so that statement is false.

We certainly can revisit in October. Let's dig even a little deeper....

Denver played it's most "un-inspired" game of the year on Saturday morning @ Jesup and the game was never even close to being in doubt. Jesup had to resort to the defense trying to "cut block" the Denver O-line to keep from being pushed back 10 yards on every play. Denver learned how to combat this tactic.

The Denver V DH game had 4 varsity starters not playing including including their best player.

Denver really only has the 2 running backs to replace. The QB is a good kid but flat out could not throw the ball more than 5 yards downfield (that is why GR beat them in overtime at the dome) and that will no longer be the case. They have several guys who got experience last year ready to step up. You are 100% correct that Denver had two GREAT running backs last year but you will be surprised how good the "new" guys are.

DH had nothing to play for in that game. I know several DH people and they were more interested in making sure everyone stayed healthy than winning a "meaningless" game.

I would also expect a drop off but not nearly to the extent you are saying. Denver will control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

OK so several years ago Jesup won one JV game. I know it was not in the last 3 years as I have been to every one of those games. It has to be 4+.

Last year the JV only lost 1 game and beat DH and New Hampton...

DNH rested nobody that game so you must of talked to the wrong people...

OK, whatever you say. I only deal with 2 parents every single day at work. You are correct that nobody "sat out" the entire game but they did not play their normal game. They wanted people fresh for the start of the playoffs only 5 days later. How did Jesup do in the playoffs? Oh yes, they got shut out by St. Ansger who then got doubled up by DH. Kind of like Denver doubling up Jesup....
