On Memorial Day, Iowa City High over Davenport West by a score of 2-1

Assumption, Clinton, and North Scott have matches tonight.

Central and Burlington tomorrow.

Everyone else (and those still alive) on Thursday

City High - West score is a little surprising. Sounds like playoff jitters on the part of City High or did Dav West just play well?

Sounds like City High couldn't find net. Shot a lot, though. With West scoring a bizarre goal.

City High faces PV on Thursday.
North Scott faces Bettendorf on the same night.

FutbolFan-thanks for the link. This comment, most likely from a West fan was posted on the IC PC site in reaction to the article. Sounds like the game may have been closer than advertised.

"First, the goalkeeper is BRANDON SANCHEZ. Second, the goal West scored was because West player Travis Willows crashed the goal when City High was being lax in clearing the ball. Contrary to the lopsided view of the City High Coach, these were two equally matched teams. City High was lucky enough to get a PK thus giving them the win. Wave after wave...well stats say City High 12 shots on goal, West 9 shots on goal...doesn't sound like a wave to me. Maybe the Press-Citizen should interview BOTH coaches after a game for a more unbiased view."

I think the West fan was actually the Dav. West coach. We were actually at the game watching a City High player and we can witness the fact that West played kust as good as they have played during season. City high didn't look that good but had trouble with the physicalness of the game. The City High fans were very verbal in complaining about how rough the game was. In our eyes, it was a typical MAC soccer game. It was a good game to watch. In our opinion, neither keeper had to work too hard. Both defenses did great. Good luck to City High against PV. They're going to need it.
