Martin Smith is the director of both program, but is actually just the head mens coach. Coach Brown is the head coach of the womens team.

It's kind of odd that they split it up when Ihmels left.

Andrew Grove-McDonough is the Iowa State women's coach. Bethanie BROWN is the recruit she brought with her that originally commit to UCONN and was the #3 finishing freshman at the NCAA championships.

Iowa State did not split it up, Coach Smith hired her. He had the flexibility to fill out his assistants as he saw fit and I don't think anyone would complain with the results. The men rose to relevance with the attention Coach Smith could give them while the women held in what was supposed to be a down year.
