Iowa Highschool Playoff Predictions

Way way to early to predict, heck just look at D7 most of the top teams play each other weeks 6 -9 and the same for other districts. The RPI ratings were out yesterday so you can see what strength of sched does for you over your record.

Very true, but most districts can be pretty well predicted who's going to come out on top by now, besides D7.
D1- Hinton
D2- IKM
D3- BK imo(Although this district could realistically get 3 in)
D4- St. Ansgar
D5- E-C
D6- Pekin(although multiple teams could challenge here, will probably get a second team from here)
D7- This district obviously stacked beyond belief, will get at a minimum two teams, but most likely three.
D8- Sad that any team from this district will be in the playoffs, but it's Lynnville-Sully here by default.
D9- AHSTW
D10- Westwood
Anything I got wrong here?

D5 will depend on how soon Alburnett returns their horses: Wickman and Barnett. Heard Wickmans is returning this week or next and Barnett will return as well in 3-4 weeks!! If they can get them both back for District play, that will change things in D5!!

Predictions on NT/ Hudson? BCMoore has NT winning, every other poll has Hudson as #1. Personally I feel Hudson is overrated, but still good. Is Staebell hurt or not out for Hudson?

What are people thinking?

Also heard Rodriguez is out with broken hand or finger. Murray is good but who can he throw to, and Seres is obviously good but not sure he is a pound it every down back - but to this point they have been winning which is what counts.

Also, did anyone ever hear what happened in EB/Ed Co game? Injury? Did that big O line get handled by EC? Lots of turnovers? How did that happen?

I haven't seen any of those teams yet, and only go off what I see on stats and such. All I know for sure is Class A is as open as its ever been with no truly dominant team.

Before everyone jumps on North Tama's band wagon their 3 non district teams are 2-7 with Wapsie having the 2 wins. Also combined those 3 teams have given up 374 points this year to their opponents for an avg of 41.5 ppg. Also remember the wapsie game was played on a neutral field at upper Iowa and not at wapsie witch is tougher than hell to play at. Not saying that wasn't a big win for North Tama just saying their schedule will shake out as the season plays on. One advantage they have is they have a weak cross over game with Postville but that will also hurt their RPI.

EB just too slow up front on defense... EC spread them out and tossed it around at will in addition to running outside. Rochford is real deal cor EC!

I am surprised though that EB wasn't able to put up some scores with the big OL. I did see Naber only had a handful of carries, but maybe they feel comfortable with the SO Bowden and wanted Naber to focus on Defense? Bellevue RB put up 256 Ru Yds against EC, so figured they would have trouble with EBs run attack.

Don't get me wrong, NT will get beat once, if not twice within the district, I'm just not so sure Hudson is one of those teams. Side note: The Gazette did pick NT to finish 2nd in the district, which is pretty ballsy given NTs recent past and the level of competition around them in the D7. Not sure they can maintain the level of intensity and preparation that they brought to the WV game, but if they can it's anyone's district to win (minus BCLUW and GMG).

I heard EBs coach on the radio basically said EDCO beat them on offense, defense, special teams and coaching. He made no excuses and gave credit to Ed-Co. I don't think anyone was missing or hurt at least I haven't heard anyone say that. You never know what your going to get week to week dealing with 15 to 18 yr old kids.
