Newell Fonda got screwed on that 3rd down pass. Kid had a foot down in bounds it looked like with full possession......

Way to rise up on defense for NF and get a stop after the missed call. Fremont Mills looks so far like a totally different team than what they were against MMC. Pretty clear as to what they are trying to deal early and often getting the run game going.

Dicks pointed to his shoulder on the way off the field and he was keeping his right arm completely still.

If Dick's isnt able to return that could be a huge blow to Newell's passing game. He has really thrown the ball well in the playoffs and their passing game is what really has made the difference for them during their big run they are on. It hasn't been the run game that Newell has been known for in the past but more of the pass. Will be very interesting in the second half. Has been a great game so far!

Hess is playing well, but it is definitely a hindrance to not have Dicks in throwing deeper passes.

FM forces fumble on NF QB. Picks up ball and runs back for TD. Ref got in the way of the pursuit to the TD. FM scores. extra pt good. score 29-22 FM up.

Freemont Mills D-Lineman should have been called for a penalty on that 4th and inches. He dove at the Newell Fonda O-Lineman legs below the knee and that is why he got hurt.

Instant karma for the chippy plays by FM and NF scores!

As long as the ball is in the free blocking zone, which it was, it is legal for offensive or defensive lineman to cut.

It isn't legal for an already engaged lineman to be cut by another lineman. The D-Lineman was engaged with someone but cut toward two lineman to his left and injured one of them as they were engaged with other players. That is a chop block or illegal block below the waist. The free blocking zone didn't matter in that case.

NF just scored to make it 39-35 with :17 seconds left. If FM scores it will surpass Don Bosco for most points scored on NF this season.

Congrats to N-F. Was I the only one predicting them to the title after their 0-3 start?

What a great game. Two years in a row we finally get a solid chanpionship game. Congrats to Fremont Mills. No reason at all to hang your heads. You guys had an unbelieveable team and had an outstanding season this year. Congrats as well go Newell Fonda. Who would have guessed that they would have been holding the big trophy, let alone in the playoffs, after starting the year 0-3. Shows how far a team can go if they believe in the path that the coach is taking them. Great game by both teams.

Aaronanderson I heard that too but if you look on quik stats, it appears all of their main players played in the first three games.

Party rumor is false, simply put, these guys are arguably the best coached team in the state. Extremely inexperienced at the start of the year. Found an identity and playmakers. Much respect for Coach Wilken and the rest of the Mustangs. Extremely resiliant, the best run I've ever seen at this level.

Well put Knights..This team deserves the ESPY Award for the best turn around of the entire season...maybe ever for Iowa high school football. Well done T-Bone. Congrats to NF!
