Hearing that IHSSN will be televising and streaming boys championships starting this year. However, I think if you have Direct or Dish, you will not be able to see the games as they are on stations sub channels. Has anyone else heard this?

I looked at the network of stations. Dish customers outside Central Iowa are SOL for tv coverage. DirectTV only carries the Des Moines and Omaha stations.

Yep. OTA and streaming > having to buy Dish/DTV.

Yeah, they're going to stream the semifinals and championships for free, so that certainly seems like a good deal.

Some networks have picked up the state games on the west side. MediaCom, Channel 44 in Sioux City, and Long Lines in Storm Lake and Sioux City.

They never did.

The IHSSN did, but it expired at the end of 2018-19.
