these top seeded teams in most all classes have all lost now or not made it to the dome. Ed-Co doesn’t deserve to even be at the dome from what I’ve seen so far. But then again I’m only able to watch right now cause I’m in Chicago soooo......shame the IAHSAA has screwed things up; yet again. Pay BCMoore and fix this joke.

Ed-Co's best player is injured, and they would have qualified for the playoffs as a district champion anyway.
Literally multiple of teams could be listed. My point is injuries are never weighed, level of classes played up or down for non district is not weighed. Good records are skewed by poor districts/ non conference scheduling. I wish ED Co’s Best player a speedy recovery, but I don’t think he would make a difference. Extremely poor coaching on ed co’s part on how to stop AHSTW.
Wow you do realize EDCOs top play Rochford rushed for close to 2000 yds this year and also top receiver right. If he is on the field they control the ball more and keep Avoca offense off the field. He could be the best RB in class A all purpose wise. I'm not saying they are a powerhouse and yes their district was weak BUT they did what they had to do to get to this point. Their were plenty of other teams that qualified like BGM who was a district champ that EDCO put 50 plus on.
If you have eyes, anyone can see rochford just athletically isn’t in the same stratosphere as Gabe Pauly, Christian Seres, Josef Smith, Tucker Krooze, and many more. Do you ever stop and think maybe there great stats could be due to the level of competition that they had played for 8 out of there 10 games? I’m not saying they are a bad team. They are a very very good class A team. But eye test wise they aren’t a dome caliber team. But shame on Garrigan for losing to them. It does hurt having rochford our but he wouldn’t have made much of a difference. Still would have gotten blown out
I have eyes but obviously you don't if you don't think he is a top caliber RB. I have seen all the ones you mentioned and for you to say he is not in the same stratosphere tells me you know nothing about athletes. The kid is an all state football, basketball and baseball player and state track kid and maybe they still lose today with him but I guarantee its a lot closer ball game with him in it. You take seres out for Hudson and that team is avg so don't say not having Rochford wouldn't have made a difference. Sounds to me like your team got beat out or didnt qualify so now your pissed at a team in the semi finals that remind you won 2 playoff games with one being against the so called great Garrigan team who they also beat without Rochford.
Hey man don’t need to get so defensive. I clearly stated that ed-co is a very good team. And Garrigan has a pretty awful offence so that is what it is. They do have a great defence tho so it’s still a great win. But they just dont have the talent to compete with the big boys and that showed today. and yeah edco went to state in basketball playing possibly the most pathetic schedule I’ve ever seen to get there. They literally lost by 70 to north linn.
They beat the great Garrigan team with the help of the refs go watch the game and you will see because honestly if it wasn’t the refs then why didn’t they beat Garrigan by more I mean Garrigan turned over the ball 5 times probably should have beat them by more then 6 don’t you think?

Your question about why didnt hey beat them by more is pretty simple, when you lose your best player in Rochford who basically you run your whole offense thru on the second play you basically change your whole game plan.
Rochford ran for 400+yards and 5 TDs vs BGM who was 8-1 but you say he only got 2000 yards because he had a "weak" schedule. Which other team do you think was "dome caliber" that should have made it over Ed-Co?
Wait now were saying don't count BGM because they were not good, I agree but they did win their district that had 3 team qualify from. Then somebody says the RPI sucks use BCMoore, again I agree but at the end of the day EdCo was and still is # 2 in the BCMoore rankings. People can keep putting them down but teams had their chance to beat them and they didn't INCLUDING Garrigan. Yes I know the refs sucked and garrigan played like crap and yes they turned the ball over but seriously get over it because you got beat by the team that lost its best player on the 2nd snap of the ball. The same Garrigan team that beat Wapsie who lost to North Tama who lost to newman who lost to the 4th best team in district 7 Grundy Center. Thats football give credit where its due.
I saw Garrigan play both edco and Wapsie. Garrigan and Wapsie Valley are both superior teams. Garrigan’s luck ran out against edco. Ur just not going to beat a good team with 6 turnovers. I also believe a team like belmond is a better team. You could make a case for North Tama, but a loss to Newman doesn’t look good. 99% of the time the 4 best teams don’t make the dome and this year is no exception. Anon111 is right, ed co has great stats because of competition. BGM would have gone 5-4 in our district and 4-5 in district 7

Kevin where did your post go about blaming a ref that you said was from Edgewood that did the Garrigan game? You were pretty blatant about it. Did he turn the ball over for Garrigan maybe strip the ball from a ball carrier? Bottom line is they got beat just like anyone else does, you make your own breaks. From what I hear next year will be Garigans last yr playing 11 man football so then you can take all the excuses to the 8 man group.
Look at the Garrigan and Wapsie fans refusing to believe that Ed-Co is better than them and are pulling every excuse in the book out. At the end of the day, Ed-Co played in the dome while Wapsie and Garrigan sat at home on their computers talking smack over the internet.

Garrigan being better than Ed-Co is an opinion, not a fact. You know what is a fact though? Ed-Co beat Garrigan 6-0 and is 1-0 vs Garrigan this year.
I've heard people complain about teams not deserving to be in the playoffs. This is the first time I have heard someone claim a team didn't deserve to make it to the dome. They beat Garrigan on the road in the quarterfinals lol

Lol so if your team ever loses to an inferior team don’t complain about it because that’s being hypocritical. I knew Avoca was going to get crushed. Southern Iowa is just not as good as North Iowa football. At least in the smaller class size football. Sometimes you’ll get those great teams which are anomalys but for the most part the north is superior
