Did anyone go down and watch the NAIA national wrestling tournament? Gand View won the national champinoship after only their 4th year of their program. They had a great group of Iowa wrestlers contribute to their title. Nick Mitchell was awarded the coach of the year and has done a great job there and continues to get great wrestlers.
At 141 Gustavo Martinez, Marshalltown 5th, 149 TJ Moen, Sydel 3rd, 157 Chad Lowman, Des Moines 3rd, Jimme Schuessler, Slater 7th, 165 Brad Lower, Burlington 2nd, 174 Ty Knowler, Southeast Polk, 4th, 197 Derek Nightser, CB Lewis Central 2nd, 285 Eric Thompson, Waverly Shell Rock 1st. The other natinal champ was Omi Acosta at 133 from Florida. Congradulations to the whole team. They sent 12 and 9 made AA.
