however, MMCRU is playing vs South O'brien tomorrow correct?MMCRU forfeited the contest to Gehlen due to lack of available players.
From everything I have heard, they are playing tomorrow night. Pretty tough to come right back out and play a top ten team after something like this.MMCRU forfeited the contest to Gehlen due to lack of available players.
Isn’t it crazy hiw much success plays a factor into numbers? And sometimes even with success don’t mean the numbers will stay strong. The joys of small class football never know what the numbers will look like from year to year.Yikes. It wasnt too many years ago that MMC had high numbers while playing for 8 man titles.
Pretty sure they were forced by the state to move up. This isn’t by choice playing 11 mani give them credit for moving to 11 man, bet Bosco never makes the jump up
Yes you can if you want but MMC didn’t do that, the state made them because their enrollment was above the breaker line for 8 man pretty sureyou could play up if you wanted to ,is my understanding.
I don’t even waste my time with Bosco crap anymore at this point lol. They would be a around .500 team in class a. Be funny to see them in district 7 n that’s where they would be.i was just looking for an oppurtunity to bash Bosco
Got to take the safety/wellbeing of their squad into consideration. They moved to 11 man when they took on Remsen Union enrollment to become MMCRU. Rumor has it they are making the decision to play or not this morning which is completely bush league IMO.... if it is true.
I moved back to the area a few years before MMC initially dropped down to 8-man and dominated. RU had a few nice years in there and then obviously MMC's great couple year run. Tough to see this from them. I'd be interested to see how many kids open enrolled out when the schools came together and if much of the athletes have left. Here in LeMars I know we've gotten a couple kids from RU to go to LeMars Community. I heard that a couple of the better athletes for Cherokee were initially at MMC too. I believe the Kuchel kid who graduated from RSM was initially at RU as well? I would think so as I know another Kuchel who I would assume is a brother or at least a cousin played at RU before the whole grade sharing agreement.
i give them credit for moving to 11 man, bet Bosco never makes the jump up
Didn’t realize they were that low. Just few years ago they were right on the breaker lineMMCRU has an enrollment of 122, just north of the cutoff for 8-man. They have to play 11-man. Don Bosco is at 84, which is part of a long downward trend (for them as well as most small Catholic schools), why would they choose to play up with declining enrollment.
I agree safety and wellbeing are important, I am just not sure waiting until Friday morning/afternoon to make a decision is the right way to handle it. If I had a big game the week after I would like to take that time to prepare for that if the game is up in the air. As you said, it is an unfortunate situation to be in.Got to take the safety/wellbeing of their squad into consideration.
No point participating in an unsafe situation.
Very unfortunate situation to be in.
