I see their HC job is open. They appear to be returning a good amount of talent. Are they a contender for the playoffs?

Stay away from this job. They let a few kids, parents, and assistant coaches run off the last guy because he made changes. The word on the street is Chad Moore helped run off other coaches so he could come back. He will be the head coach again. It all seems very shady.

Glad to hear coach Moore is coming back!! Hoping he will build the forest city football program again. The last head coach was let down

PNation as you can see Knight1554 is probably the reason why they have had 5 head coaches. Let's blame the coach and not the community.

How can you blame the community? The head coach is supposed to be able to make the right choices to put the players in a place to be successful which the last coach failed to do.

It sounds to me that you have no clue what it takes to win. It's more then putting people in the right spot. Knight 1555 you guys ran out the other guy too. Forest City is a bad place to coach football.

The program has hard working athletes with the desire to win. They're just waiting for the right coach to put them on a successful path.

This may be one of the dumber posts of the year. The community and parents have as much if not more to do with the success of a program than then kids and coach do. If the Coach has zero support from the families who's going to force their kids to get their butts to practice? Who's going to help out with fundraising, team dinners, teach their kids to have responsibilities...the list could go on forever. A coach is a person to help guide the kids when their folks aren't around and to help teach the kids who may have fallen off the path a bit.

A Coach is never going to be able to put the kids in a place where they can succeed as a program unless he has 110% effort from both the parents and the community. I speak from example but I know what it's like to be at a program where all but about a dozen parents could truly care less, and 9/10 times the child's attitude in school and athletics stems from having parents who could give a crap less as well.

BentonCounty,
Great Post!!!! I know Hedrington and McGee. They both got screwed by the past coaches, school board, and parents. Vince is teaching and coaching somewhere in SE iowa. Hedrington is still at Forest City teaching. I hear Clarion is opening and that would be a good fit for him. There are people of color there. I think his trouble is in small white towns. "I've told him that."

The coach had the parents support the sports boosters bought all the new equipment that the coach wanted with the fundraising money that the team made. The team meals were led by parents and organized by the PARENTS. The Forest City community has backed every coach that has come in and helps them with the transition to the community. The problem wasn't the community and parents backing up the coach, but the coach not believing in some of the students which later then caused disputes between players, parents and the coach. His best coaching job that would be available to him right now would be one in a video game.

Let's be real though it's 2016 this coaches trouble in Fc was not his skin color. Look at his past coaching jobs and see how successful he's been.

Knight1555 He was ran out of Shenandoah because of a school board member. If you don't know the guy inside and out then you shouldn't be talking. If you have a problem with him then maybe you should stop hiding behind post and go visit him. I take it he benched you? Just because it's 2016 doesn't mean there is not racism in small towns. Hedrington got screwed at Forest City. He made Shenandoah better in one year. What happened with Vince McGee?

Superslong23,
It is clear that Knight1555 has a hard on for the past coach. He must of been the kid sitting on the bench mad because his mommy and daddy wanted him to play.

What about his head coach job at the college level? The reoccurring theme seems to be him getting on the wrong side of people if he got run out of there too?

Knight1555,
He never coached in college dip sh$$$. He was only the head coach at Shenandoah and Forest City. He was apart of a State Championship team at Kuemper. There is more to running a football program then you would ever know Knight1555. Do something for me. Never Coach!!!! You would be really bad at it.

My NCAA team that I'm the head coach for is currently undefeated through 3 seasons.. And he also got fired from Kuemper, but like I'll keep not sitting on the bench because I didn't do that and you keep using vulgar language to show you're stupidity and we'll all have a nice day and move on.

You can't hurt my feelings. But fair enough I don't know his background. Done judging just glad no more players have to play under him in Fc.

Ok well your fun has come to an end. Idk if you actually even know the man you're backing up. He called one of our best players the day after we lost our homecoming game in OT and told him how he lost the game for us. Or when he's being the gym teacher and picks on kids that have mental disabilities. It's ridiculous for that to be said along with telling my teammates that they're the worst player that he's ever coached. You can't even joke about that. Does a good coach down talk his players? Does a good coach change something from a program that's been working and has created success? He came in and tried to change everything about the program to make it his own which can't be done immediately it takes time. He was unwillingly to give the players his time. Any good coach knows that it takes all 240 snaps in a game to win not just one.

Is it safe to assume the NCAA team you Coach for is on a video game? I really didn't mean to get in the middle of any of this, and I honestly do not even know the Coach you're discussing. What I do know, is that I've spent some time coaching and some of the things you said above couldn't be further from the truth.

You made a comment about not being able to change a program because the community and parents differ in opinion from the head coach. Typically speaking it's better that the head coach calls the shots, assuming he doesn't have kids on the team. Parents have vested interest in their kids, if their kids aren't playing for whatever reason then sadly we're in the day and age where it's the Coaches fault, not the kids fault. The community has a vested interest in winning, I checked the record books and I don't see Forest City having many successful years. Maybe it was time for someone to come in and try to make some drastic changes. You said it can't be done immediately, actually changes can be made immediately and if kids, parents, community don't jump on board then they'll be stuck with the same losing tradition they've had in years past.

The comments about him as a person calling and blaming a loss on a particular kid and making fun of a special education student are assumptions on your part. Or maybe you heard it from someone reliable. Who knows...regardless everyone makes mistakes. In the heat of the moment I've lost complete control in a game and gotten flagged for it. I embarrassed myself, my family, my friends but most importantly the district I work for and those that put trust in me when I was hired. Does that make me a terrible person? No. If the guy did make those mistakes, and failed to acknowledge them and didn't apologize then yes I can agree with you that he has some moral issues. I'm assuming that this Coach is african american based no some of your comments, there's no place for racism anymore. It doesn't matter if you're from the most podunk town in Iowa, or you're from Waterloo. It shouldn't be tolerated and if it was parents being racist that's even more sad in my eyes bc I would've hoped one parent in the group would've had the kahunas to ask people to stop. Take Care and hopefully things will get turned around at FC.

First City was on a path to a winning tradition until this particular coach stepped in. The community and parents backed the coach until some of the comments he was saying towards players and students started getting out. Thanks for your input, but you shouldn't be commenting if you don't know the coach and the situation. Have a nice day.

I know the coach. Everything that you said is false. Knight1555 I suggest you stop writing and keep playing video games. Again, it is clear that you were apart of the problem. It's also clear you have it out for this coach. My advice to you would be grow up. (Forest City had 2 winning seasons in 15 years). That is not the right path to win.

We had two winning seasons in two years... That's a winning tradition. Not everything that I said is false.. Obviously you don't know the coach since you don't know what goes on behind closed doors or in his classroom. Ok buddy will do....

Since you were a jerk and copied my name (Knight1555 tells me that you are a loser.) The more that I read your post tells me that you should jump off the face of the earth. "You my friend are the reason sports programs go to hell."

knight1553

Be nice to him. The sad thing Knight1555 is; knight1553 is right. People like you are the reason for running coaches off. The sad situation is the honest kids that were there are the ones that get hurt. Winning on the field isn't the only thing that matters. Winning in life does. Knight1555 you have a lot to learn. "Keep playing those video games."

I was an honest kid that was there.... I believed in him and played to the best of my ability for him. He screwed our whole class over. He didn't believe in us and didn't put us in he right place to be successful and I will.

The sad thing is if you would have played instead of sitting the bench you wouldn't be saying that. It's time for you to move on and enjoy life. My friend taught you much more then football and I know he did. I just hope you can be half as good as a man as him. Good Luck!!

Well the sad thing is I did play, and I'm only one voice for many of my teammates that played and have some of the same thoughts as mine.

Superslong23: I played at Kuemper for Coach H. He is an amazing man. I was upset when he left. He was a blessing to us all at Kuemper.

Ouch my feelings are hurt now you called me a loser. You're more than likely the kid that sat on the bench since you seem to keep your blinders on and not look at the deeper picture and that's why you would of sat on the bench.

Ah, when teenagers get on an anonymous message board and talk...
