Harrington probaby will get u 40 points for what ever events he is in. B.Hill will give u a few points in the two fields events. Then maybe he will be in a relay that will score a few points. That makes it around 52 points and u are in the thick of things.

Well i just remembered they had two other sprinters, one a 100 and 200 guy and 200 and 400 guy who both place at state and were on the relays last year so.

What does CR Wash have back? Also, will Linn-Mar, PV and possibly Burlington show well?

Valley and Waukee in central Iowa.....Indianola hit by graduation?

Indianola got 6th in their conference race. What makes you think they will stand a chance at State?

Indianola doesn't have great depth to compete for a high placing in the conference race, but they do have Brennan Davey.....who might help them pick up 30+ points...which should easily put them in the top 10 team standings at the State Meet.

Below is where Indianola has a chance to pick up some points.

400 - Daley ranked #1
800 - Daley ranked #2
4x4 - ranked #3 (Daley anchors)
4x8 - ranked #1 (Daley anchors)

I think that it is going to take 60 points to win it.

From the central part of the state I think that Valley has as good of a chance as anyone. It looks like they might have a chance to score in: shot, discuss, 200, 400, shuttle, 400 lows, 4x1, 4x2, 4x4, 4x8, medley, shuttle.

Just my opinion.

As someone else alluded to, State is a different animal than smaller meets like Conference. Conference meets can be won by teams without a marquee runner but a bunch of solid guys that can get you 3rd, 4th, and 5th. State is typically won by teams that have a top kid (or two) that can win a couple individual events, and anchor a relay or two.

On "paper" based on the times within quikstats as of last week, here would be your top 10 team in the team race in class 4A:

1) LM ? 47
2) Roosevelt ? 45
3) Cedar Falls ? 44
4) Prairie/Valley ? 39
6) Bett ? 37
7) Dav Central ? 36
8) SE Polk ? 28
9) Hoover ? 26
10) PV - 24

On paper....I see Indianola having 34 points.

Updated with quikstats data as of yesterday:

1) Cedar Falls 64
2) Valley 59
3) SE Polk 47
4) Roosevelt 46
5) Dav Central 35
6) Indianola 34
7) LM 32
7) Prairie 32
9) Bett 29
10) Johnston 21

you can take Indy off of the top 10 list. Davey came up lame in the open 4 and gave it a try in the open 8 and didn't finish.

How did you figure those scores? Based on seeding/district results? If so, I counted Cedar Falls with 45, SE Polk 52, and Valley 65.

I could be off a little.

It could be pretty tight. Every school will sub some relays. I noticed SEP's Donels only jumped twice for 2nd seed, but should win it. Also, Horton from SEP ran 9:28 for 3rd at state last year but is seeded 10th at 9:46. Didn't run the 1600 very fast 4:29, with a season best of 4:19. Wonder if he had an off night.

This should be fun.

I have heard Davey he will try to help his relay teams out but he looked to be in a rough condition last Thursday.

I think Southeast Polk has a good shot at taking home the title. With possible wins to be had in the high jump, 110 hurdles, shuttle hurdle relay, points to be scored in the 200, 400, 1600, 3200, medley relay, and discus. They could be looking at a score in the mid 60's if they have 3 solid days.

I think that you are right. If things come together like I think they will it will be a three team race between CF, SEP and Valley. I am sure that there is another team on the east side that will push their way into it.
