Well, actually they ended up #2 in the nation for Spring 2010.

Check it out here: http://rise.espn.go.com/Boys-Soccer/Team-Rankings/Spring-2010.aspx

Probably the best High Soccer team every assembled in the state of Iowa.

Probably the best High Soccer team every assembled in the state of Iowa, with the notable exception of the 1996 Valley team that finished the season ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Fixed it for you Rock. And no, I am by no means a Valley fan.

eyecy: So you really think that a team from 1996 could stay on the field with a team from 2010? Not so sure on that, but congrats to Valley's group back in the day.

Im pretty sure west high would get their shit rocked out on the east coast or down in texas just sayin

iowa city west lost twice this weekend to valley and dowling by identical scores 2-1

Prolly not/ IC West was ranked #1 in the nation for a reason
Almost all of the best states for soccer (Texas, East Coach states, California, Illinois etc...) either play fall or winter soccer so the #2 ranking does not accurately reflect being ranked #2 in the nation. More like the second-best team out of the 10 or so states that play spring soccer.

The SPRING season of Soccer, Iowa City West was ranked #1 or #2 in the nation. And having won 2 straight Iowa titles AND being in EVERY STATE FINAL SINCE 2003, well, it's perfectly logical for the Trojans to be so honored.

Let's see...

Yesterday they put a cap in OBL.

Today Thunder posts on a soccer thread.

Looks like it's a good week for longshots. Since events normally happen in threes, I'm buying Mega million tix for tomorrow!
