Does the Bettendorf/Assumption rivalry mean more, less, or the same now that they are not in the same conference?

I would argue it means more, regardless of conference or even now class, they still don't like each other, healthy respect for one another, but now that they are in different classes you can't count on that possible playoff rematch for redemption. It's still for bragging rights. Should be a great game.

I'd say it means less- still don't like each other but the game has no real meaning towards the season now except bragging rights. Both teams will likely be state title contenders most years and the outcome of this non-district game will matter little towards that goal. It also may not be an every year thing anymore depending on how they do scheduling in the future.

That being said, as a Bettendorf grad I'll always mark it on my calendar :)

I would say a lot less. The games will not carry as much weight anymore. With the exception of the last 2 years where Pleasant Valley was the dominant team, Bett vs Assumption typically was for conference titles or playoff advancement. None of that will be the case anymore. I see Bettendorf winning in a one sided affair tonight.
