Already getting past the halfway point of the season! Time flies...

Carlisle at Ballard ( (ND)) -- Carlisle seems to be picking up momentum. Down 14-0 to Knoxville in first quarter and then reeled off 35 points for the convincing, physical victory. Both teams 2-2, but I think Carlisle is the better team. Ballard played Gilbert tough last week on the road though. Carlisle put a serious thumping on Ballard last year. Should be a closer game, but I'll go with the triple threat wishbone Wildcats. Carlisle 35 Ballard 24

Norwalk at Saydel -- Saydel is definitely much improved this year. Played Osky tough last week and have been more physical then years past. Norwalk put up a goose egg last week against Pella and will be looking to score early and often. Saydel just doesn't have the horses to keep up with Norwalk. Norwalk 42 Saydel 7

Oskaloosa at Chariton -- Important game with playoff implications. If Osky wants any chance of making the playoffs, they have to win this game. Chariton is 4-0, but has had a week schedule. Osky's defense has played well this year, but the offense has been anemic. Chariton will throw the ball a great deal and will score, same can't be said for Osky. The undefeated season continues. Chariton 28 Osky 14

Pella at Knoxville -- Knoxville played Pella as physical last year as anybody and really played a great game, but still lost by 28. Unfortunately, Knoxville came out of Carlisle last week pretty beat up. 5 guys out with concussions for this week's game. Pella physically dominated Norwalk last week. Knoxville is very one dimensional on offense, so Pella will stack the box. I think Knoxville will have a hard time moving the ball and Pella will be spreading the ball all over the field. K'ville will play a spirited game but I don't see this one as being very close. Pella 42 Knoxville 7

Carlisle 21 Ballard 17 — This is a really good non-district matchup for Carlisle facing the challenge of Ballard on the road right before they have to play Pella. I think they are discipline enough to get this road win.

Norwalk 42 Saydel 14 — Saydel has played teams impressively close the last two weeks. Hope they can make it a game for a while for the home fans.

Chariton 35 Oskaloosa 21 — I don't know why, but I expect this one to be high scoring. Osky gets offense figured out, but Chariton stays unbeaten

Pella 47 Knoxville 7 — Gotta be able to pass to compete with Pella. Panthers will have an important three-game stretch after this week, so hopefully for them, they can stay relatively healthy.
