Only thing I can figure is the official thought the guy that was covered up caught the ball. That would be the only explanation. But those assholes should have convened and corrected the call. Surely 1 person on that crew saw what really happenedIf Williams had been on the line of scrimmage instead of 4 or 5 feet off the ball, he would have been "covered up" and as such, he would have been an ineligible receiver.
Seeing as how he was not, I can't understand how that can possibly be called....especially a few seconds after the snap. I understand how officials miss stuff that happens but I will never understand how they see shit that didn't happen.
Miss a false start? Ok, I get it.
Invent a holding? Umm...how?
It isn't a play that's reviewable so that's how it stands. They need to start punishing officials for obvious blown calls like that.
