I'm guessing it was due to a 70 mile drive from work to practice. I don't know if he lives in Dunlap or Lawton, but I know he teaches at Boyer Valley, so he had a 70 mile drive each day after school. He also lost most of his assistant coaching staff between the 2012 and 2013 seasons, so things were not ideal to run a successful baseball program, how he had managed to do so is an impressive feat.
He was a great guy and a good coach. Sad to see him leave.
