Should be a fairly intriguing race this year. Fort Dodge (the oh-by-the-way 3-time state semifinalist since 2007) has split with #8 Valley and #9 Indianola and defeated #4 Dowling on Tuesday.

Valley was their first in-conference doubleheader.

#6 Waukee, who lost their first game to #2 Ankeny recently, gives the Iowa conference a solid group of contenders.

Baseball needs to get on-par with football and basketball for getting scores posted.

Updated standings:

Waukee- (8-1) (4-0)
Fort Dodge- (11-3) (3-1)
WDM, Valley- (11-5) (3-1)
Marshalltown- (8-7) (1-3)
Ames- (3-7) (1-3)
Mason City- (5-12) (0-4)

Valley split with Waukee and FD swept Marshalltown last night which means the Dodgers clinch at least a share of the league title.

They have a doubleheader vs Ames, needing one win to clinch outright. Not bad after the kids they lost to graduation from last year's team.
