BH over GLR

Anyone have any info on this game? Bad loss for GLR.

Definitely a bad loss for GLR. Heard the officials played a roll in the outcome. Final foul totals were GLR 25 BH 11.

BH made plays down the stretch.

Per Quikstats....the Fouls were a little closer

GLR 24
BH 20

Just watched the game online and the officials were fine. They made the absolute correct call on the foul with 1 second left. If its a foul in the middle of the game, its a foul on the last play of the game.

Maybe some ticky-tack fouls on GLR throughout the game but as the total fouls indicate it wasn't completely one sided. Foul at the end was a good call, he hooked his leg.

I don't either. It just appears BH even with their record, they are showing they might be a player in their substate.

So much of the Class 1A attention has been on GVC and North Linn and for good reason as they both appear to be very good. I am just curious to see how a few of the NW Iowa 1A teams will match up.

Thanks for the correction. I don’t have a dog in the fight. Just relaying info I heard from the game.

District 1 will be a little more interesting if Boyden Hull continues to play at a higher level.

I think GLR will have a bit of trouble matching up with NL & GV's athleticism. I would have to say that I would favor NL & GV by 20 over GLR and I don't think BH would have a prayer against NL or GV. GLR would have to really slow it down to be able to compete with the top teams in 1A.

I think Garrigan might matchup well with NL or GV although that’s not really NW Iowa they have good athleticism and height not sure how they compare to those 2 teams

Garrigan has had a cpl of losses recently albeit to good teams, but the loss to GHV didn't look competitive. Do you have any info on what happened in those games?

The garner game they just got out hustled and were missing a lot of shots where as garner wasn’t missing... last night the game was back and forth until the last 2 mins where they were down 4 and started fouling and forest city didn’t miss there free throws so last nights final score wasn’t indicative of the game itself

They did beat both teams this year and it looks like they will have to get by Don Bosco in there substate to even get to the Well... there are no seniors on the team and they start 2 juniors 2 sophs and a freshman

Have you ever seen GLR play? They are one of the more athletic teams in the Siouxland. I would like to see how North Linn would fair in the Siouxland.

I think they will do even better than they did last year at state, beating St. Mary's for 3rd place (the team that came out of NW Iowa).

The interesting thing about Boyeden Hull, you need to know is they have been playing without their best player all year. He hurt his knee during football and should be back in February. That doesn't give him a lot of time to get in to shape but if they do continue to improve he will make a difference the longer BH plays. The other part of that team is that they are only really play one senior that has had to sit for awhile for acedemics. The deeper BH gets into district and Substate, they will become an even more difficult out.

Yes, I have seen them play and I stand by what I said about GLR would have problems with the athleticism of NL & GV. I believe NL would win the Siouxland this year with maybe one loss in conference.

After watching the GLR-BH game (taking into consideration that this might have not have been one of GLR's best efforts and that BH is missing a player or two), I'd concur.

Not sure I'm confident about that, but based on BCMoore it certainly wouldn't be a surprise.

The thing about NL is we dont know. They have dominated a lesser conference and then Iowa City Liberty. The Siouxland Conference also has more depth and size, so I am intrigued by the matchup when it happens at the State Tourney.

We do know somewhat, from BCMoore. All season last year people were mocking GVC in spite of their high BCMoore scores because of their weak schedule. And to be honest, even though I saw what kind of team they were, I certainly wasn't predicting a state championship. But they proved that their BCM scores were no fluke. This year, NL's BCM scores are much much higher than GVC's were last year. And once again we don't have to speculate...they took 3rd last year at state and returned all their starters.
