Wow. Harlan has given up the most points in 3A. That's a bit hard to believe, I don't care how hard their schedule is.

I've thought about publishing schedule-adjusted defensive and offensive rankings, but obviously haven't. What would be more useful to you?

I'm wierd and love stats, so for me, the more, the better. But I'm sure that is more work for you that you probably don't need in your life.

I think for the last few years, that district has been mostly offensive. The end result being, the team moving the farthest in the post-season from this district usually runs into a wall, when they meet a defense that can slow them down, (aka...Pella/Norwalk) and then they get out-gunned on offense. As they say, "Defense wins championships"

El Doce, this is my opinion about this District. DCG is no longer in it but the past two seasons, The semi final game was not a shoot out. Last season Both defenses played well Norwalk/DCG. It was a close game and DCG's defense ranked in the top 5 if not further up in the state. The year before. IT was a district battle between DCG/ Creston to go to the dome. IT didn't turn out to be a shoot out until overtime took over. This season, I believe your statement is spot on. There doesnt seem to be much defense in that district hence the Creston/Harlan score in regulation time. That was crazy. Creston has the offense to take them IMO to the championship game but their defense has to step it up. That district is gonna be tough no matter what, A lot of good teams.

Although I think your analysis is still relative to the district. DCG/Creston was quarterfinal. 2years ago Pella crushed DCG in regular season and Heelan crushed Creston in the dome. Realize that both of those teams had pretty potent offenses, but I also think that DCG/Creston also weaker on D than they were on O. This year, I think DCG a little tougher on D, which will help them win their district even with their starting QB out.

Good for them. Not that Washington is a bad option in the wildcat, but it might have helped them get creative.

It all comes down to the final 4 weeks for DCG and this district. Right now they are all beating each other. Boone has shown everyone they could be the team to beat. DCG will find out where they may stand after the Webster City game this week. We all know the offense potential WC has. Damon Clapper played friday against Perry. This district reminds me of the Big Ten, Beat the crap out of each other during the regular season with no clear cut favorite.
