I really didn't think Schulte deserved 1st team QB over Finney or even Brandsfield, all 3 are good but I thought Finney for what he did in the dome.

Lots of very good players on there. Lots of very good players left off. Congrats to all the boys for their great seasons.

As a Pella fan I was excited to see Finney be selected player of the year. According to Quickstats he had 4,028 yards total offense and 48 TD's.

Passing: 162-252 (64.3%), 2,748 yds, 32 TD's, 10 INT's.

Rushing: 178 carries, 1,280 yds, 16 TD's.

From a pure quarterback perspective, I thought Finney was better than Clayberg. Makes it scary to think of who else they have waiting in the wings lol

On the 4A side they don't use stats, they ask the Des Moines Coaches who belongs and that's final damit!
If those coaches don't know they then ask the lady running the Lake View Iowa Gazette paper to vote.

Well deserved; impressive player!

I have to ask, what's a "stringer"

Also does it seem odd and unfair that a paper can have multiple voters? check out Creston, they have multiple voters who attended, incidentally #4 players selected from Creston.
