So you telling me West Lyon absolutely dominated A this year and only has 6 kids on these lists?? There wasn't one offensive lineman that could stop Cody Bauman and his name is nowhere to be found. What a slap in the face. Also it just goes to show all they look at is stats. West Lyon could have hung 80 on about every team they played but they have class and would never run the score up on anyone. The starts played about half the games in 90% of their games this year! I am very disappointed with the INA this year!!!

WHAT A JOKE!! Mitch Gibson a third team pick when he had 6 interceptions which was second in the state and returned two of them for TD's. Also, head to head he held Sams from BCLUW (a 1st team WR) to 1 catch for 4 yards and Sheehey from Plesantville (1st team WR) had 2 catches for 15 yards. At least the Register got this one right, I am sure Luke will as well.

Agree, Cody Bauman not on this team is shocking. He dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. His blocking on the edge allowed WL backs to run for almost 5,000 yds and most of that in the first half of games. The other kid I can't believe not getting any recognition is the #13 Moser kid. He absolutely could not be blocked against Woodbury Central. I know it looks bad that West Lyon gets 7 or 8 kids on the 3 teams, but they were that dominate this year in Class A.

There is no good way to put All State teams together as most of these writers, or sites ever see all of these kids. Some get slighted, and some get over recognized...

This is the first list I have seen that doesn't have the twins from Woodbury Central on it. I am no expert, but I watch a lot of football and am thrilled to see they did not get put on this list just because they hold an Iowa offer. I was highly disappointed in the way they play for their size. Maybe it is a coaching issue that they do not learn proper techniques, I am not sure.

Does 380 yards receiving and 3 td's make you an all state receiver ? Just wondering? Even 3rd team?
I guess it does.

Not putting Elijah Kinseth of Belmond-Klemme on any of the lists. Was injured on his 1st carry of the 7th game with a broken leg, still ended up with 1,465 yards total offense. If projected out would have ended with 2,200 yards which would have put him #1.
Averaged 37.7 yards per punt with a long of 58, which was 2nd in his district. The 1st team punter from Algona was 3rd in his district with 37 yards per punt!
Elijah averaged 44 yards on kickoffs. He never left the field as he also played outside linebacker and free safety.
Good thing the Des Moines Register recognizes talent!
Never have been a believer in naming 5-6 players off of one team. May be great as a unit but how would they be talent wise as individuals?

I hate west lyon but they should have at least seven guys on each all state list they probably had the top three or four players in class a on there team.
good news is all there studs graduate and they come back to reality next year.

Actually not all there studs graduate. They do lose a few but bring back moser, newborg, grotewold, terwee, whalen, metzger, and alot of talented underclassmen. You have to remember those underclassmen played pretty much 1 half of every game this year. Ther is no doubt they wont be as good as this year but they are not losing as much as people think.
