Pre-season rankings don't mean a lot, but later this season rankings will have some impact. Substate pairings won't be set this year until 5/10 and the rankings will not only be used to seed the substates like last year, but they will also be used to try to balance substates out, if one team can be moved to a different group they will.

I think City High and Muscatine are going to be the big surprises out of the eastern side. We'll learn a lot on April 3rd when Iowa City West, Iowa City City High, Dowling, Valley, Roosevelt, CR Wash, Pleasant Valley and Muscatine are all in Muscatine. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

Too bad the IHSAA doesn't wise-up and MOVE the State Championships back to Muscatine, as well. Last year, DesMoines is scrambling around tryin to find a place to play the state championships, with Cownie being damaged by flooding

Wise up and move it back to Muscatine, the best Soccer complex in the state of Iowa

Interesting rankings...will be even more interesting to see how some teams finish in the rankings with such difficult schedules this year.

Norwalk has: DM Hoover, CR Kennedy in the WDM Valley Tournament. Johnston, Waukee, DM Lincoln, and 2 other teams from the CR Prairie tournament as well. [Prairie? Xavier?] Could prove to be the toughest non-conference schedule in the state this year for 2A competition.

Looking forward to the tournaments and opening games start tonight!
