How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall I thought our season was very successful. We were 8 and 2 with our only two losses to Iowa City Regina. We had a big win over West Branch and we were Co-District 5 champions.”
What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am a four-sport athlete so after football ended I have continued to work out in the weight room and I am now involved in our basketball season which we are currently 6-2. I also spend time hitting for baseball and catching passes for football daily and always working on my speed and agility.”
How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I am excited for next year. We return all but three starters and almost all of our skill position players on the offensive side of the ball. We return a 1000-yard rusher Owen Hassell and our QB Drew Keith. We have a lot of guys that are going to be three-year starters so we are hoping to have a big season, something we have been waiting for.”
What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“West Branch and Regina are two tough teams on our schedule, they both have great tradition and always have quality teams that compete for district and state titles. I also feel Mid Prairie will be a tough game to start our season.”
Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Nathan Schockemoehl from Cascade led our District in tackles and was also good on the offensive side of the ball. Brady Webber and Hudson Ehrenfelt from Mid-Prairie. Brennan Dale from West Branch is a solid returning quarterback along with Cooper Gates on the defensive side of the ball. Also Tate Wallace from Iowa City Regina.”
Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes I would like to play football or baseball in college or possibly both. Right now I am leaning towards football.”
What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Northwestern in Orange City, Platteville, and Winona State.”
What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Just starting the process so I don’t really have the answer to that.”
Have you made any college trips yet?
“I visited Northwestern this past fall.”
Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“I plan to visit Platteville this spring, and I would like to visit Cornell and Warburg and Monmouth.”
Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was Iowa, I am a big Hawkeye fan.”
