..............................................

Q&A with Wilton tight end Cade Souhrada
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall I thought our season was very successful. We were 8 and 2 with our only two losses to Iowa City Regina. We had a big win over West Branch and we were Co-District 5 champions.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am a four-sport athlete so after football ended I have continued to work out in the weight room and I am now involved in our basketball season which we are currently 6-2. I also spend time hitting for baseball and catching passes for football daily and always working on my speed and agility.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I am excited for next year. We return all but three starters and almost all of our skill position players on the offensive side of the ball. We return a 1000-yard rusher Owen Hassell and our QB Drew Keith. We have a lot of guys that are going to be three-year starters so we are hoping to have a big season, something we have been waiting for.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“West Branch and Regina are two tough teams on our schedule, they both have great tradition and always have quality teams that compete for district and state titles. I also feel Mid Prairie will be a tough game to start our season.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Nathan Schockemoehl from Cascade led our District in tackles and was also good on the offensive side of the ball. Brady Webber and Hudson Ehrenfelt from Mid-Prairie. Brennan Dale from West Branch is a solid returning quarterback along with Cooper Gates on the defensive side of the ball. Also Tate Wallace from Iowa City Regina.”

“I know that we are going to be 100% better than we were this year. We are going to make it to the playoffs and I just want to see how we grow as a team and a family.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“To be honest I don't think that we are going to struggle with any teams next season.”

“I think that we have a lot of strong parts coming back for this team and I think we really have a shot at winning it all next year.”

“I don’t really like to focus on one team, I think every game is going to be a hard game and we need to come ready for every team every week.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“There are a lot of really good players that we are looking out for and we know that we need to take away their effect on the game every week but we focus on stopping the whole team, not just one player.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I think the toughest player we will be going against this upcoming season will be Jack Wallace because of how well he can throw the ball.”

Grubb out

No, this isn't about going to a Bugtussle steak joint... just interesting about spuat's OC heading to the Seahawks taking the OL coach as well.

Did they screw over Ryan Williams and any other players wanting to leave?

From Seattle Times:

“Though the Seahawks had interest in Grubb from the start, one reason for waiting to make the hire official was to allow a 30-day window for Alabama players to enter the transfer portal to pass.

Nick Saban announced he was retiring as Alabama’s coach, opening a 30-day window. But the window passed Saturday.”
