Wrestling Upper Iowa Conference Predictions

What are your predictions for the UIC this season?

My early pick would be NFV. NF and Valley joining will result in having a lot of depth.

They are also retuning 4 state qualifiers (including 1 place winner)
Dalton Lape - I see competing for the title
Tyler Johansen (8th) I would be surprised if this junior loses a match
Jordan Larson - Worked hard this year and I expect to see him at state again
Zach Bruns - Another kid who has a chance to win it all

Also had 2 district qualifiers from last year
Nick Baumler - Shot at state this year as a sophomore
Austin DeMuth - Should be placing this year at state

Also have a strong freshman class coming in
Ethan Lape - placed 5th at AAU
Jesse Mackey - qualified for AAU

I completely agree with ya but I think your missing some people. I think that Johnny Wander will be a top 5 finisher if not to win the title. Also Kelvin Guyer looks to be some pretty good competition for anyone who would even think about wrestling that animal. He becomes something else when he is out there tussling. Another is that Nick Wander. That kids got a lot of spark that could take him far. He is a little jackrabbit out their on the mat. And last but not least Jared Kerr. I expect him to pin his way through everyone this season and make a joke out of the state tournament.

I would also look out for brandon monahan and jason bradely. These two hard working young men have solid off seasons.

What is the situation with Central and Clayton Ridge? Noticed that CR only had 7 guys on the preseason roster.

Central has it's program back and has around a dozen kids out. Not sure where you saw the CR numbers, but they have over twenty kids out.

I would have to go with the SF Cougars. If everyone stays healthy, this team could compete for a team trophy at state.
