Who picks the Shrine Bowl Players

The staff of each team picks. They have to follow certain rules as selecting positions and from each class.

Rocket is correct. The Shrine Bowl staff selects the players. Only players who are nominated by their high school coach have the opportunity to be selected. There are also certain rules set forth by the Shriners. Certain and balanced geographical areas must be represented. Also a balance of football classifications (4A, 3A, 2A etc) must be represented. I had mentioned this in a previous post I know a a couple of coaches who have coached in the Shrine Game and they said it is amazing at the number of high school coaches that nominate no one from their team. Both said there were really good players out there (All-State) that they were not able to select because they had not been nominated. No nomination / No Selection. Kind of disappointing that from what I was told "Quite a Few" coaches fail to nominate their own players.
